Pleasant, Comfortable, and Convenient Place

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: The food and dining facilities were excellent.
Location: The hotel is located not far from the Schönefeld Airport and the Estrel Convention Center and taxis respond almost immediately (only about 10 minutes
The "Blub" (Park Hotel Blub) is an excellent facility with all the comforts one would expect from an expensive German hotel, but at a lower price. The staff are super helpful. The on-site restaurant is spectacular. The hotel is located not far from the Schönefeld Airport and the Estrel Convention Center and taxis respond almost immediately (only about 10 minutes and 10 Euros to either). Overall the Park Hotel Blub is a pleasant, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in south Berlin.

Great bang for the buck

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Pros: Huge breakfast with great selection of items
Cons: Although very close to nearest u-bahn station, it's obviously not as convenient if you were already living near center
Fresh, clean hotel with helpful, accommodating staff. Conveniently located only 500 meters from nearest U-bahn stop

Excellent value for money, good transport links.

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, strong reliable wifi, excellent price, lots of little extras in the room (sweets on the pillows on arrival!)
Cons: We didn't eat at the hotel as the menu seemed quite expensive, especially for breakfast.
Location: Local underground train station is about 7 mins walk away (Grenzalee), no more than 20-30 minutes to any main attraction in the city. Very cheap too!
My sister and I stayed here for 4 days in October on a city break. Checked in around 10.30pm no problem, check in was swift and easy. Receptionist gave us all the required information with no waiting around. Room was to the front of the building but totally quiet, barely any street noise. Pleasantly surprised to find a mini-bar in the room, we each had a beer to toast the end of a long day travelling. Bed was comfortable and blankets immaculately clean, fresh and cosy. The room and bathroom had lots of little extras such as a nail file, shower cap, cotton buds, hairdryer, sewing kit, basically anything you may need. Bathroom and shower were spotless, bright and airy. The room was great overall, German TV with remote and wifi was strong and reliable. We were able to get UK plug adapters from reception for a deposit of 5 euro as we had forgotten our own. Transport connections were great. We didn't want to try to work out the metro/bus links at 10pm on the night of arrival so opted for a taxi (25 euro). But the rest of the week we took the U-Bahn and S-Bahn on an all-day ticket for 7.20 euro. A few stops and a change of line, no more than 30minutes to main attractions but it doesn't feel long at all as the trains are so frequent. The bus outside the hotel takes you straight back to airport every 15minutes. Very enjoyable stay overall.

Reasonable generic hotel, short walk to transport

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: Ok location, quiet area and nice staff.
Cons: Could do with modernising as for a "4 star" hotel it didn't meet expectations... "3 star" is more accurate
Location: Location is not in the most affluent areas but the people are all pleasant and friendly
We stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights and it was during a mini heat wave with temperatures over 25c at night and over 33c during the day which made for some uncomfortable sleeping. The hotel has no air conditioning but they did have very quiet fans in the rooms which just took the edge of things. We had booked a double room but they don't have any doubles... all are twins apparently so be aware if you like to cuddle! Fortunately this was a blessing as the missus loves to cuddle and it would have been unbearable with the heat! (Please don't tell I said that). There are bus stops right in front of the Hotel and only 35mins from the airport and there is an underground (U6) just 8 minutes walk down the road. This takes you straight through to the attractions of the city and pretty much everything in Berlin was within 50mins tops. The hotel is a bit dated but very functional. We didn't eat in the restaurant but did get a bottle of water from the bar for €4.50! considering the exact same water is available from the mini bar at €2.80 I'd avoid the bar... also a shop just 5 mins down the road sells bigger bottles of water for €1.50. I've not been at a hotel in many years where they still have CRT tvs, you know the massive bulky TVs from yesteryears.

Stayed here for 3 nights when visiting friends for a mini break. The staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. I was very impressed at the value for money. Great.

Good and bad- marred by poor wifi

Posted 22-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
Had a corner room by the lifts (256) - very light and airy, lots of space. However, the entire hotel only had single beds- if you wanted bigger their only option was to push two together. The wifi was also so crippled that I couldn't VPN, could't use VOIP and even some streaming services were blocked. Easy to get to however, with a direct bus from Schonfield every 20 minutes and supermarkets within 10 minute walk.

Great Value

Posted 09-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is quite a way out of Berlin, but for exploring an abandoned theme park in the area, it was perfect ;) The rooms are clean and functional and reception was staffed 247. Parking was not charged. Breakfast was an addition 12euros, we chose to eat out instead. For the rate paid the value was exceptional. Internet was available in reception but didn't work in the room as advertised. :(

Poor internet connection

Posted 31-May-2014
I was on 2 days business trip and needed internet badly, the room given to me for the first night did not have a connection coverage of wifi, front desk staff was not friendly and corporative the change the room, on second when my room was changed internet coverage was poor too, I had to use my mobile hotspot for both 2 days stay. the rooms where clean, there was a mini kitchen in the room with the electric stow, but no kitchen basic tools for warming up your food
