“An smazing choice for such great value”
To be honest the only reason i choose this hotel was because the word 'blub' made me laugh. How lucky was i that the jokes ended there as the service and quality was excellent. We didn't speak German however this was not an issue as many of the helpful staff spoke English and those who didn't still tried to help us. With a 24 hour reception going out late was not an issue and being situated down the road from the station helped a lot. The walk is 5 mins tops and is accompanied by a wonderful river shot with wildlife to greet you each time you pass by. There were delicious food options in the hotel and everything smelt so enticing, we didn't have some purely because we rushed out every morning however it was clear to see people did return each day for the same food with the same smiles. My one gripe? they had ran out of king sized beds however the memory foam mattresses made up for this slight oversight as we pushed the 2 doubles together. Honestly this was such a lucky pick but i will be staying with them every time i visit Berlin.
“I would definatly recommend it, the hotel is really pleasant.”
My boyfriend and I went to Berlin on the 31st May for 3 nights. There was a short train journey from SFX airport to Alexanderplatz (the centre). On one of the days we went to the Reichstag hoping to go inside and look around, however we got there and had to make a 3day reservation. So to avoid disappointment i would book this as it is free. I would also book tickets to go up to the television tower in Alexanderplatz, as the queueing time was at least an 1hr 30mins after buying tickets. We also went to the Olympic Stadium which i recommend going on a tour. The tour was in German/English but the guide was very infromative and we learnt a lot. Out hotel was very clean, and the people were very friendly. However, it was quite a few stops from the centre of Berlin which made getting to places longer. Also the walk from the train station to the hotel wasn't the best as it was a quite neighbourhood and it was fairly ery. Once in the hotel it was really nice and very comfortable and clean. however, the trip was packed out as we did as much as we could. I would definatly recommend Berlin for anyone who wants to visit a city with lots of things to do!
“A comfortable break in BERLIN!!”
The hotel really served it purpose well for a base for an enjoyable European city break in Berlin. The standards of cleanliness was very good. The staff were always helpful and friendly and went out their way to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast selection was incredible! Everything from cereals to bread rolls to smoked salmon for breakfast, with a selection of juices and speciality teas along with endless jugs of coffee. The transport network around the hotel was excellent and provided fast and cheap transport for easy and quick transport in to the city centre and other attractions around. There are a couple of restaurants within easy walking distance, especially La Serra steakhouse, which provided cheap, delicious food and in a very friendly atmosphere! Overall, Park Hotel Blub is a fantastic hotel! Well recommended!
“Great Hotel, ideal for a short stay”
The hotel was fantastic value for money, the staff could not have been more helpful, the room had everything outlined in the description and was extremly clean, the restaurant provided outstanding food. However, the location could have been better, there was nothing around in the near vacinity in the form of restaurant, shops, bars and the although there was a u-bahn station near by, it was still quite far to get to the city centre. that said would highly recommend to anyone interested in a short stay city break.
“Great Hotel; good value”
My partner and I stayed at the Park Hotel in October 2010 for 3 nights. I was surprised to find such a good value hotel and booked it immediately. When we arrived we were impressed by the hotel and its service. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant that very first night and it was amazing. However, after our first night we found out why the room was so 'cheap'. We had a room facing the road which seemed to be a main road and traffic never stopped during the night. We hardly got any sleep that first night and the first thing we bought the next day were ear plugs. All in all, the hotel and staff was great. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. The hotel is close to the tube station and you're in the centre of Berlin within minutes. However, make sure you get a room facing away from the road. I guess you get what you pay for....
“Great hotel, but FREE interent is common sense today!”
Very nice hotel, quiet neighborhood, close to restaurants, gas station and subway station. Very nice room. Parking was provided for 4 euros per day, in hotel parking lot. One particular problem - it's unbelievable to charge for internet service in a 4 stars hotel, when motels/cheap fast-food chains offer this for FREE! 5 euros for an hour it's outrageous! Internet is like hot water today, charging for this service in a 4 stars business hotel it's at least strange.
“Clean, efficient hotel”
Hotel was clean, and well appointed. Weather during visist was hot and humid and room had no AC or fan so very hot at night. Was able to get fan from front desk the next day. Hotel location was remote from center with very few shops and restaraunts close by. However it was in easy walking distance to U-bahn and also had bus service to both U and S Bahn. Front desk staff were friendly and able to assist with tour and travel tickets
“friendly staff, but far from city center”
we had a car, so it wasn't a big problem to get moving. but relying on public transport, you'll need to walk and then spend like 20-30 min to get to the city center. hotel staff are friendly, but parking is not free. had to call several times to get any requests we wanted. overall, an average good hotel....and in a relatively quiet neighboorhood.
“Great hotel for the price”
The hotel is clean and tidy and comfortable. The staff was outstandingly helpful and friendly. It's not nice enough to actually be considered 4-star, but considering the amazingly low price I paid, I was extremely happy with it. The only real drawback is the location - its about 20 minutes by subway from most of the tourist sites plus a 6-minute walk from subway to hotel. For me, to get a reasonably nice hotel like this at a great price, travelling the extra distance was worth it - it might not be for you if you really value location, or can afford to stay somewhere more expensive in the city center.
“Berlin Hotel”
Clean, well run hotel. Very pleasant stay. Great for if you're wanting to travel to fashionable east Berlin not so good if you want to get west. It was very near the tube (U Bahn) Grenzalle station. My top tip is get the TimeOut city guide to Berlin and eat out every night as the food is expensive at the hotel.
