Property Amenities
Rooms
Lux 11 offers 72 spacious apartments and suites - creating a truly cosy and at-home feel. Some of the rooms have balconies, also some rooms have an air condition. All apartments are equipped with a kitchenette (incl. dishwasher, microwave, coffee / tea maker etc), open bathroom with rain shower, minibar, fax machine, safe, working desk, iPod docking station, LCD flatscreen & DVD player.
“The interiors of Lux 11 Berlin-Mitte play with opposites: warm and cold, smooth and rough,” says London-based architect Giuliana Salmaso, who, along with Claudio Silvestrin, conceived the hotel’s structure and feel. “The concept for the apartments is based on the feeling of Berlin in recent years. Interiors in Berlin are mainly in concrete and wood, so we chose concrete in China green, which is a gentle color, and warm wood.” This light, minimalist color scheme offers travelers a cool, modern ambience, yet touches of tactile abundance and luxury can be found everywhere – even the curtains are done in soft beige suede and the upholstery in rough canvas. An opulent white bed dressed in tones of fuchsia and burgundy is set on a strip of shag rug and is surrounded by sleek, Asian-manufactured furniture.
The open floor design also includes a sink and vanity area perched on a concrete block. A subtle, inconspicuously elegant washroom area, accessible via a couple of smooth concrete steps, sits right behind the sink and is separated by a glass wall. It integrates a rain shower as well as a handheld shower.
“In the combination of concrete in the bathroom, of wood in the furnishings and cement on the floor, you get an unexpected effect. Also there is no real divide between the washroom and the living space,” says Berlin-based collaborative architect Moritz Müller, explaining a concept that at the time the hotel was built seemed well ahead of its time, but indeed has a history. The clever integration of functional and living spaces was often proposed for private residences by mid-century architectural legend Le Corbusier.
Room Amenities
Dining
Luchs is a restaurant with understated elegance, where food, not design, take centre stage. The restaurant’s long rectangular dining room is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing massive amounts of natural light to flood the room. It provides a great contrast to warm darker tones, such as the charcoal-grey seat
cushions, wooden floor and indirect lighting, creating a serene and cosy environment. Luchs has a capacity of 100 guests plus another 60 seats on the sunny terrace. The cuisine features traditional german dishes based on local ingredients.
The Lodge, an adjacent lounge made of stone and wood, is a cosy, intimate refuge where to begin or end one’s
night with the perfect libation. Open from 7 p.m. to all wee hours of the night, Lux 11 guests and Berliners can come
together to mingle and enjoy classic cocktails, or to discover unusual flavours created by the in-house mixologist.
Entertainment
Aveda HairSpa
Beate Kahlcke runs Aveda HairSpa next to the Lux 11 lobby. Her styling, colouring and skin treatment programmes follow ayurvedic principles, specially adapted to your personal needs. But not only the flower-based Aveda products will touch your body and soul – Beate’s laughter that can be heard all over Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse will do so, too.

“Lux Eleven Complete Kitchen”
Only complaint: Unable to read in bed as the lights on the nightstand were very dim. Really liked the complete kitchen and free washing machines including soap
“Very stylish hotel”
It was my first time in Berlin and it was excellent mostly due to Lux 11 Hotel. Location, service, the room was great. I recommend this hotel to anyone who likes style and comfort.
“GO !”
Couldn't have been better. Great service, great room (except for the two single duvets on a king size bed...) Fun place. Didn't try the restaurant but bar was much fun. Go!
