“Charging for every silly little thing.”
I stayed at Kempinski on business for 2 nights, it was convenient for my meetings and it had a spa. Very old West Berlin glamour, but ultimately quite annoying. I think it was about 7 euros per hour for wi-fi, which in this day and age is just plain embarrassing. I wanted to order some coffee in the morning, but there is a 5 euro charge for room service (so more than the cup of coffee). I know it's supposed to be expensive, but this is just ridiculous and very inelegant. You're supposed to enjoy a nice hotel but every minute you're confronted with how cheap they are, trying to charge you a euro here or there for everything. The room itself was ok, clean, very old-fashioned furniture (I suppose, suggesting opulence). Carpets, TV in a cupboard and the like. Service was nice, and their Kempinski Grill was fabulous for food. Overall, nice if you like to play dress-up and wear w bow-tie. For modern business and high-speed internet, go elsewhere.
“Not impressed - felt like a second class guest”
I went to the same hotel in december last year and booked a standard room. I thought it was a bit small, so this year I booked a superior room at another price. I got the exact same room as last year and even the same room number. When I asked in the reception how this could happen, they just told me that I had been upgraded last year - they made no effort to give me a better room or even offered me an excuse. I felt like a second class costumer in this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone else.
“Well located and very comfortable”
All excellent. Did not eat in hotel as found the prices too high but there is an excellent range of restaurants within a 10 minute walk along Kanzstrasse, Savigny Platz and Bleitraustrasse. Room a little tired in places - I think there are some refurbished rooms but we didn't have one - but very nice.
“Brilliant”
Still the most relaxing hotel in Berlin.
“Great Weekend”
Great location for shopping and for the S-Bahn network. Grill Room restaurant was a nice treat. Room disappointing as the airconditioning was inoperable and it was noisy with windows open. Nevertheless - we would certainly use this hotel again
“Good for business or vacation....”
Good for staying over for a dew days. It has everything you need. I will come back anytime.
“Best Hotel for Value”
Loved this hotel and I travel extensively
“Berlin's Best”
Rooms, staff, and amenities are always great. This trip, the staff recognized that I was not feeling well - travel cold - and went out of their way to make me comfortable.
“Next to heart of Berlin”
aaa
“Quality, efficient hotel in good location”
Kempinski has the 5 star feeling as soon as you arrive. Very efficient staff, helpful and efficient concierge and very practical, comfortable rooms with plenty of storage. A great location on Ku'Dam amongst the posh shops and an easy bus ride to most major attractions. Buses M29, 200 and 100 got me most places, and the T and S (subway) also close. Zoo station a 5 min walk away, to connect to airport trains and buses. I got a bargain on expedia, with 40% discount. I would definitely stay there again.
