“Great Hotel in a good location.”
Lovely hotel with extremely corteous staff. Room was however a little small, but room amenities very good. en suite was rather dated, but all facilities were in good working order. I would stay at this hotel again, especially for the great breakfasts if nothing else.
“Perfect location”
Perfect location for shopping
“Excellent! Affordable, close to everything and great staff.”
Well worth the extra money. I'm a single middle income Mom who came to visit my daughter studying abroad. I wanted a place we could both enjoy during her leisure time away from studies and work. Fantastic! Great shopping and restaurants nearby as well as transportation. You have to try the Spa! excellent massage therapy. The food and wine at the hotel restaurant and bars is excellent but expensive so we frequented local cafes. Ride the local bus #100 right outside the door for a beautiful round city tour of many local attractions. I can't say enough about the friendly helpful staff. Hope I can visit again soon.
“Great value quality hotel in a good position.”
This is our fifth stay at this hotel, which is relaxed, and has very friendly helpful staff. We received a warm welcome on arrival, and were quickly checked into our room. The room was a good size, with a comfy bed and soft pillows. It has quality facilities. Breakfast is excellent, with a great selection of wonderful breads, cheeses, meats, fruit, fish, etc. The hotel is very close to the Zoo train station, and buses stop very close to the hotel making it very easy to travel about Berlin.
“Excellent location. High quality at reasonable price. A couple of niggles”
The hotel's location is outstandingly convenient for the Ku'dam and other facilities. Service was friendly and helpful. Room size and comfort were excellent. Price reasonable given the high quality. A couple of niggles. The air conditioning didn't work (it only blew out hot air). Not such a problem in May but would have been a real bore in high summer. The cold tap of the bath was stuck (soon repaired by a technician, but should have been checked earlierI). And the positioning of the television was such that the remote control could't be operated from the bed.
“Lovely hotel, great service and perfect location”
We spent 4 snowy nights here in between Christmas and New Year. Our room was large and well decorated (no view but we weren't there to look out of the window). The large bath filled in seconds and the shower was powerful. The bed was super comfortable but suffered from being two single matresses on a double bed base with two single duvets - not the best for a romantic getaway. That, and the price of amenities at the hotel (wi-fi, breakfast, items from the minibar) was the only downside really. But then its a 5 star luxury hotel so I suppose you don't come here for a cheap few days. We just got an incredibly good deal through Expedia. As we came at Christmas we were a few steps from a brilliant Christmas market and drank gluhwein every evening to keep us warm. The hotel is right next to the church which is a must-visit. Beautiful when lit up at night. The hotel is 2 mins walk away from the U-Bahn and S-Bahn so its within easy reach of everywhere in Berlin. This hotel is highly recommended!
“Nice hotel, great location but missing the extras that I expect from this star rating”
The hotel is in a superb position overlooking the elephant gate to the zoo and a stones throw from the hauntingly beautiful Kaiser Wilhelm Kirche. The guy who checked us in spoke very good english and was very polite and engaged us in conversation. The room was pleasant and there was a turn down service in the evening. The swimming pool was an added bonus and the gym looked well equipped. Just a few minor disappointments - the tea and coffee items were not always replenished in the room, especially the whitener which I would have expected from this star rated hotel and the bath towels were very small and not the fluffy bath sheets that I have come to expect from a hotel with this rating. I would stay at this hotel again, the staff were all very polite and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Berlin is a magnificent city, this was my 4th visit and it never fails to disappoint.
“Palace presidential floor”
The hotel is listed in the Leading Hotels of the World book and amongst other features boasts attention to security. We were located on the top floor which also has the presidential suite so had to use our security card to get the lift to thus floor. Service including room service was superfast, courteous and efficient in contrast to other parts and venues in this city. The spa is very covenient, but there is extra charge to use the sauna facilities which range from an ice cave to a very hot Finnish style sauna. We didn't have the breakfast, but did find a good restaurant within the Europa centre (literally a couple of minute;s walk) that did an equivalent breakfast buffet for half the price of the hotel. The only gripe is about the cost of internet access. Many places where I have stayed include free WiFi access. This doesn't and their rate for one hour is almost the same as 24 hour access which in turn has an ordinary and "business" rate, the latter being a bit higher. The restaurant in the hotel is proud of its Michelin star and it is advisable to book for dinner. The prices reflect the status and there are plenty of places to eat of both local multisourced ethnic cuisines within a 5-10 minute walk. For shoppers, the hotel is at one end of Ku'dam the Oxford and Regent Street equivalent and KaDeWe department store which is similar to Harrods and whose sixth floor boasts delicatessen fare and bars at which to eat them.
“Great location”
Very good location. Easy to get around Berlin from this location. My wife and I spent a long weekend and were very satisfied with our choice.
“Amazing cozy hotel in best Berlin area”
