I booked the hotel ,including Breakfast, free wifi,, there is no Breakfast not in the room wifi connection, only in the lounge,,plus, when you the Check in you have to give some 100 Euro.. incase you may do some damage or some accidental things, terrible, Hotel picture look nice actually hotel its in the 3 rd floor and 4 th floor, there is a lounge 8 chairs there , no sofa no arm chairs no coffe table, for Entry in the building every time coming the building door close you have to press bell and wait someone will open the door for you, its only one receptionist there, its all foul the stay there,location is fine hart of the Berlin city centre,

Very old, outdated facility. I cannot say it was clean. As I stayed in new years eve it was so expensive and was not worth it at all. Staff were friendly though. I would not recommend at all.

The bathroom of the first room I was in was CAKED with toxic black mold. The night manager offered me a choice of other rooms, but in one the mold was worse. It was late so I stayed one night in the other, which was still moldly and had unpleasant stains on the carpets in the bedrooms.

Hole in the shower screen and the general condition of the room and building was poor, the reception staff at the desk unhelpful and unable to speak English even the description stated they could, could not fault that the room was kept clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

Make what you will of this review, however from my side it is completely honest. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures firstly, the hotel is old, run down and quite frankly depressing. I'm not fussy with hotels as long as they are clean and I have somewhere to put my head down in between work meetings. This hotel I wish I had avoided. Initial room had no hot water. Moved to a new room that had not been cleaned, had a messy bed, used sanitry products left in the room and a lovely floater in the toilet. The room had holes in the shower and plasterboard falling off the walls. Moved to another room that the receptionist came to check with me. Even worse than the last room. Hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long, stank of stale food. An hour later or messing around and I was moved back to my original room, hot water now working. I must add that my whole experience was awful, the receptionist (who identified himself as the manager and then refused to give me his name) was extremely argumentative, rude and didn't take any view the customer comes first. He took every opportunity to disagree and argue with me and tell me that 'it is what it is' and my experience with them was completely acceptable. Save yourself some money, but a bottle of whiskey to warm yourself and sleep on the street, it will be more comfortable I promise.

Linen was clean, location ok. What was wrong with Hotel Comet. More than half the lights didn’t work. Staff were rude when I arrived. No air conditioning or even a fan in the room. When I asked for one they were very hesitant to give one to me. Told me there was no funds on my credit card, wanted cash. Checked card as soon as I reached my room, plenty of credit available. States free breakfast a big no on that. Booked for 4 nights stayed for 1.

Excellent location in the heart of Berlin. However the inside of the hotel needs modenising and redecorating , but is clean with helpful and polite staff. I would consider staying there again if visiting the wonderful city of Berlin again.

Basic hotel in need of renovation.
Misleading pictures. The room we had was VERY run down. Dated decor, stained and worn carpets. The bathroom was like something from the 1970's with old and dated tiles and poor facilities. The toilet would not flush properly, we had to hold down the flusher for a good 30 seconds for even a small amount of water to make its way through. When it did eventually flush, a strong smell of drains filled the bathroom. Shower pressure was good and temperature was ok. Sink filled with water too when trying to wash hands etc and took a while to drain. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. We had a room with a balcony but the flooring (carpet?!) was worn and dirty. Very basic. Bed was extremely comfortable and spacious. Wifi in rooms available at a cost and only one device able to connect to it at a time.

The only good thing about this place was it's location. This Hotel is old, not well conserved and not as shown in pictures. They show you pictures of brand new bathrooms but once you get there the shower doors are broken. The wifi doesn't work in the rooms and the guy at the reception was rude when we asked if we could do early check in. They only have one key per room and they are plastic and broken. Better than a hostal? probably, but I wouldn't cone back. The only good thing about the hotel is that its located in a nice area, with the subway right there. You can get to the center in 20 mins or less by public transportation.

Value for money in a convenient location
The hotel is conviently located near underground station a local bus services giving easy access to the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff on Reception. The rooms are simply furnished and kept spotlessly clean. Lots of hot water for the shower and large central heating radiators for the colder weather.

Pros: convenient location, clean, good amenities and toiletry. Looks much better on the inside than from thr outside. Cons: Free wifi only covers the waiting area. Wifi in the room is paid (costs only 3 € which is OK). Toilet bowl is very small (we are petite size). Shower water temperature fluctuates quite a bit. Maintenance is the main issue. When we checked in we found half the curtain fell off the clips, so the day light will wake us up early tomorrow morning. We asked frontdesk but they were not able to help fixing it in time. Seems the hotel's service is not very professional. Overall it is a good value but if you want greater comfort you will probably want to shop around a bit more.

Don't try to check-in before 3pm, even though it doesn't tell you anywhere that you can't. Weren't informed at beginning of our stay that there was no hot water!! Problem fixed on day 2. Rooms were basic, boasts of tv and own bathroom with hairdryer...but doesnt even have a kettle. Daily cleaning service, but they don't change bedsheets unless you remove it. Location was quite central in that area and transport was excellent. Worst part about the hotel happened the day before we left. The lift stopped working...we were 3 flights of windey stairs up. Not good for any smokers climbing them. Or someone like me with any sort of mobility issues. 24 hour Concierge service, all staff were friendly and greeted you every time you entered or left the hotel.

The property was a lot different than the one we saw in the photos when we made the reservation. The room was totally different (different bed, different decoration, uncomfortable chairs and a small table), the bed was really uncomfortable, the curtains on the windows were smaller than the windows so there was no privacy and if that wasn't enough the walls weren't soundproof at all and even at night we could hear everyone in our floor talking and walking. The tv had only german channels with no subtitles. The room didn't even have a fridge or a telephone to communicate with the reception desk. Furthermore on the internet we read that they offered a breakfast buffet for extra money and we went to ask for breakfast they said that they didn't offer breakfast. Concluding i wouldn't recommend the hotel to no one because the only good thing was the daily cleaning service which was ok,not perfect but ok.

The hotel is very close to the metro station, check-in was flexible and staff was very good, but when I booked, there was not indicated extra fees, I paid 2 EURO per person, (it is free some special cases), also at the booking time it was not indicated to pay extra fee for wi-fi.

The photos and information on the booking page is incredibly misleading. It was not an uncomfortable stay – the place is clean enough – but it was not at all as described online. Lots of potential, but it left plenty to be desired. There are better options for similar prices.

I had a pleasant four night stay at Hotel Comet. The location is fantastic with bus and tube stations within less than a few minutes walk. This hotel isn't the best I've stayed at, by any means, but it did the job. If you're going to be out throughout the day and only there to sleep, then it's a cheap affordable option. However, the hotel is very tired looking and could use a bit of a refurb. I had a double room, and it was just a simple room with a bed, wardobe with a table and chairs. Nothing fancy, but for the price I wasn't expecting it to be. It is unfortuantley true about it being particularly noisy. I could hear everything and everyone in the hallways, and even just people speaking in the room next to mine. Personally I wasn't that bothered about the noise, but it was noticeable. I didn't see the staff much, but when I did they were all friendly and spoke English well enough. From my experience you are unable to check in before 3pm, but the staff were kind enough to let me drop off my bags as I arrived there early in the morning, and as well on my last day I left my bags with reception as my flight wasn't until the evening. If you're looking for a cheap afforable few days stay then I do recommend, especially if you're a solo traveller like I was then it was ideal. Things that are useful to note: - There is a €40 city tax that you will be required to pay when checking in

We had the room 243 and I must say that it was in a really poor condition. The carpet it was stained, very old and not looked after furniture, noisy beds, chipped sink in the bathroom, dirty WC, The only good thing is the hotel location. The pictures posted on Expedia have nothing to do with the actual reality. That's a shame.

Unfortunately, the photographs which are advertised for this hotel do not resemble the rooms. They are pure fiction. Carpets could have done with a better hoover as we were constantly standing on unknown things. The curtain did not even cover the whole window, only half of it. This meant that light could not be blocked out and people could see in. "Free toiletries" included soap and shower gel which were attached to the wall and had clearly been used by multiple other occupants. Shower door was very grotty and could have done with a clean. Would not recommend!!!!!
