“East Berlin place”
Hotel Alte Feuerwache, very serviceable hotel in east Berlin, very pleasant concierge. Possibly not as close to the city centre as might be but perfectly accessible.
“Nice suburban hotel”
This is a pretty hotel in a suburban neighborhood. Berlin is huge so to stay at this hotel you have to be really good at getting around on mass transporation. It is 20-minutes out from town so there is no opportunity to go back to your room to freshen up and then go out for dinner. Like other big cities the room are very small. The hotel has a decent restaurant. The breakfasts were really expensive, however, and they charge for coffee by the cup. It was a decent value if you can be prepared to leave in the morning and be gone for the whole day - which we were able to do.
“Do NOT book this hotel”
This hotel was NOT what I was expecting. I booked a room for me, my husband and our two children. The lady at the front dest was nice, but we got our key and went upstairs to the room, and it was a sauna! The room was very hot, and only had a tiny window for ventilation. The room had two single beds and one full size. The single beds were only a few inches away from each other and one single bed was touching the full size. The full size was actully a pull out bed from the couch. The hotel would not be too bad for a single person traveling, but if its more then one person, there isnt enough room. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, nor stay there again. Actully, we diddnt even stay the night. We left and went home, luckily we live in Germany and were only traveling in country. Also, this hotel is extremely far from any sights other than Alexander platz.
“Would stay again!”
The rooms were very clean and nice. We had 2 rooms, one with 2 single beds and one with a double. Both rooms were small but like I said very clean and the bathroom was emaculate. The staff spoke English and was very helpful in helping us plan a self guided trip through Berlin that cost us very little due to not having a tour guide. The front desk person mapped out a tour for us and helped us purchase a mass transit ticket. Breakfast was very good, both hot and cold items and lots of variety. Would stay here again or recommend to a friend!
“Lovely hotel near a tram stop in Berlin”
We were delighted with the hotel. There was free parking; the room was comfortable; the tram stopped about a block away, so traveling to the center of Berlin was easy and inexpensive, and we bought tickets from the receptionist; the included breakfast was excellent; and it was interesting to stay in former East Berlin.
“Clean and comfortable”
Just needed a bed, would use it again if I went back to Berlin but I wasn't that wild about Berlin! Shower head would not stay up on riser and yes, the soap dispensers are still on the other side to the shower! In the plus side, free parking on street and a small car park opposite. Bought one day tickets very easily from nice helpful staff on reception. Room was nicely furnished and clean as was the whole hotel.
