“Happy Camper”

Quiet neighborhood, walking distance to Sony Center and Potsdammer Platz, Brandenburg Tor, Friedrich Strasse, Cuture Forum, Tiergarten Park, several S- and U-Bahn and more. Very nice breakfast buffet. Negative is charge for use of wi-fi.

“Clean, but odd location and no amenities.”

The hotel and staff are competent and the geographic location seems central. But, The hotel is in an odd industrial area that is not as convenient to the subway as you would think. There are no restaurants or cafe's for that early morning coffee, so you are stuck with the hotel breakfast. There are no amenities at all. The beds and bedding are very comfortable and clean.

Walking to Potsdam Sq is only 25 minutes or so, but the S-bahn and U-bahn are not that easy to get to. There is a U-Bahn stop about 10-15 minutes away, but it is a north-south line so going anywhere usually requires a transfer to another line. The neighborhood is lacking in options for eating & just grabbing some snacks as it is really just a residential area with this converted hotel in it. The service was really friendly, and the rooms are great for the price. Super clean and have everything needed. Bottom line, a great place for the price, just be prepared for some walking & time using the public transport...which is excellent in Berlin and can get you anywhere.

“FJORD FOR CENTRAL LOCATION”

NOT MUCH IN THE WAY OF RESTAURANTS IN THE IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD, BUT IT IS CENTRAL TO THE TIERGARDEN, MID WAY BETWEEN THE SHOPPING AREA, THE HISTORICAL, AREA, AND THE MUSEUM AREA. THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL, KIND, AND PROFESSIONAL. THE BREAKFAST IS OUTSTANDING - ONE OF THE BEST FOR HOTEL INCLUSIVE BREAKFAST. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE - TAKE IT - YOU WILL APPRECIATE THE QUALITY AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO PLACE NEARBY FOR A NOSH IN THE MORNING. THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS FINE - BUT RESIDENTIAL - PEOPLE LIVE THERE - IT IS NOT FOR VACATIONERS WANTING TO QUICKLY WALK TO A BIGHT TO EAT.

“Super Hotel”

The Fjord Hotel Berlin is perfect. It is 10 minutes walk from 2 U ban stations and is easy walk to Potsdamer Place and Brandenburg gate. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff very helpful. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

“Excellent quality and service for the price”

The Fjord Hotel Berlin was a simplistic but extremely comfortable place for us to stay during our week long trip. Other reviewers have criticised it for being too far from the city centre, but myself and the other travelers were able to walk to the shopping Arkade at Potsdmer Platz within around 6 minutes and to Mendelsohn Bartholdy Park (the nearest U-bahn station and only 1 stop from P. Platz if you're feeling lazy!) in around 4 minutes. A Lidl is right next to this station, so cheap food and drinks are always close-by. It's worth noting that a shortcut to this area can be found by walking through the parks at the back of the hotel and taking one of the exits to the main road on the right hand side, rather than walking up Bissingzeile- check a map. The staff at the Hotel were incredibly helpful and spoke fluent English. Our room (one of the Basic zimmers) was clean and spacious, with pleasant views into the hotel's garden. The bathroom was particularly clean, fresh towels were provided every day, and bins were emptied every day. There was a huge amount of wardrobe space with two full length mirrors on the front, a further mirror at a large desk, as well as a small sofa and settee in our room. Though the Hotel could not be considered 'luxurious', if you intend to spend your holiday actually sight-seeing rather than hanging around the Hotel, then the Fjord is absolutely perfect. I'd highly recommend it to anybody who wants a cheap but cheerful stay in the amazing Berlin.

“A real find!”

If you want to be 10 minutes away from the excellent subway system and 15 minutes on foot to some of the many museums and have a helpful and knowledgeable hotel staff and modern hotel room, this is it. We would go back without question.
