“A superb aparthotel - totally recommended”
Excellent aparthotel in every way - even the fold down double sofa bed was extremely comfortable. Nearest U-Bahn Adenauer-platz a 5 minute walk. Small supermarket, excellent bakery, delicatessen and pharmacy across the road.
“Great place to stay”
We stayed at Citadines Munich earlier this year and were very happy with the accommodation so we were delighted to find that there was also one in Berlin. The studio comes well equiped with a kettle, toaster, microwave oven, dishwasher and plenty of pots & pans. The sofa bed was really comfortable but as it was already made up, we kept it that way. I don't know why a proper bed isn't provided. The location is ideal. There's a small but well stocked supermarket across the road and a larger one further down Olivaer Platz. There are plenty of bars & restaurants in the area. The airport bus stops at the end of the street and an u bahn station a few minutes walk away. Wilmersdorf main shopping area is also nearby.
“Will definitely stay here again when we go back to Berlin later this year!”
Can't fault anything about this hotel except that the air con was a bit rubbish
“Third time there & we'll be back”
We used to live in Berlin and originally chose this hotel because of its location, just off the Ku'Damm with direct access to several good bus routes and within walking distance of the U-Bahn. This was our third stay in this hotel and it confirmed that we can expect excellent, friendly and helpful service, well-appointed rooms with adequate kitchen facilities and lots of room. Don't be put off by the fold-out sofa bed. It is incredibly easy to open out and put away, and means the room can be used as a living room during the day and converted into a bedroom in a couple of minutes at night. The ethernet internet connection is fast and reliable, and there is wifi access in the lobby. You are given a direct dial phone number for your room so people can phone you without going through the receptionist. A breakfast buffet is available downstairs at very reasonable rates for a capital city. If you need groceries, there's a small supermarket, a baker, and a fruit and vegetable shop right across the road, as well as several restaurants and cafés within 100m of the hotel. The Italian bistro downstairs in the hotel building provides good value, tasty Italian meals all day and into the evening. Sounds ideal? We think it is!
“2nd visit”
This was our 2nd stay at Citadines Berlin in less than 12 months. Would never consider staying anywhere else.
“It's all good!”
Clean, comfy, great receptionists, good location
“A good place for your Berlin visit”
After initial panic when I realised that the flight booking had not been made two days before I went, the remainder of the trip went very well. Travelling through Heathrow is never a great experience (I prefer Gatwick). Belin Tegel Airport was just fine. The pre-booked 4 hour walking tour and Berlin Card public transport ticket were both excellent for getting to know the city. The walking tour guide (who came from Arizona) was well informed, interesting and helpful. It was winter and there was snow on the ground when I was there, but that just meant we had a nice small group for the tour.
“Berlin in the Fall”
This was our second trip to Berlin in 18 months and our experience at the Citadines was much better than the hotel we used last time. It is in a good location, a few minutes walk from the Ku'damm and on decent bus routes. Despite being so centrally located and on quite a busy road the rooms were surprisingly quiet. The facilities were as described in other reviews posted. The sofa bed is 2 singles but both very comfortable. Kitchen was fitted with sufficient to cook a simple meal-microwave and 2 hotplates +kettle and toaster-plus a small dishwasher. Only 2 of everything-would have liked more glasses and cups. Tea towels provided too but no washing up liquid and only 1 dishwasher tablet. Only very minor irritations. We like the freedom to do our own thing and love shopping for food so this type of accommodation suits us perfectly and saves us money. Wish there were similar in more cities. The supermarket opposite is open early til late (not Sunday). The bakery is open Sunday am, so there is no need to buy breakfast at the hotel. However, if you don't want to cater for yourself the Expedia price when we went was a lot less than the price listed at the hotel so you could save by booking in advance. There are loads of places to eat in the area to suit most pockets. The airport bus to Tegel (every 10 minutes or so) stops on the Ku'Damm just a few minutes walk away and takes about 30 minutes. Would definitely stay here again if/when we go back to Berlin.
“Ideal location”
As a single person I found this hotel to be ideal, not only in it's central location but in the service provided. The studio room was just the right size, extremely clean and being on a limited budget having a small kitchen was god send. Another plus was the inclusion of a TV, Hi Fi system and internet connection. I would without hesitation recommend this hotel for the single traveler and will most certainly use it again myself on future visits.
“Recommend”
It's a great place for travellers, fantastic value. Best thing is it feels like being in a flat rather than hotel, all mods in place, very clean. 50m from K'damm, 15 min by bus to Tegel airport, just bring a laptop if you need net access. I wish 3* hotels in UK and France were this good.
