This is a great historic hotel, with acres of beautiful grounds and trails, and wonderful facilities. The staff and food are also very very good. The one thing that could be improved is to make a few rooms more geared for families.
Very beautiful hotel, good to stay for 1-2 days, very good restaurant. The room was very spacious, very nice, not cold (I read several comments that it was cold, but in our case. We went on 7th December, the heating was on with a heater in the room and in the restaurant). Did not get a change to get to the Oak restaurant cause its always busy, twice went to Orangery restaurant. the food was delicious. Spa facilities are good
The room allocated was very small, the Hotel is in the process of being re-decorated but unless there are more reasonably sized rooms we would not revisit.
The food served for Dinner and at breakfast was good.
The hotel is in a good location, near a busy road but still quiet.

Excellent hotel, always very comfortable and the facilities are great. Only thing I miss is the Innocent smoothie cartons, they were a great perk, which I know is an opinion shared by many of my Vodafone employees.

We arrived half an hour early, but that was no trouble as the staff allowed us into our room. Couldn't fault the room, clean and accommodating. The bed was so comfortable too! We had an Afternoon Tea (which is a must!) in the dinning room overlooking the beautiful gardens and a sumptuous cooked breakfast in the morning.
This hotel is a perfect stay for anyone wishing to dine at 'The Hinds Head' in Bray as it's only 12 mins away
We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Berkshire hotel. We stayed on a Friday/Saturday night, with the intention of heading to the Ascot races on the Saturday. Check in went very smoothly on the Friday night, and the room was fantastic, with a lovely view.
On the Saturday, we noticed a lot of people trying to check in at 11am, obviously hoping to get into the hotel, changed, and out for the first race (at 12:40pm on Saturday). But check in time was listed at 2pm, and although I'm sure the hotel would have done all they could do to accommodate early attendees, if you are hoping to attend a jumps meeting with an early start, I recommend checking in the day before.
We returned from the racing Saturday night and had dinner in the Fork restaurant which was exceptional. Special mention for the steak main course, and the Fairground dessert (we didn't have it, but it looked spectacular). My girlfriend had the "Jelly" dessert, which again, looked amazing, and according to her it tasted superb.
The staff were also able to conform with a special request we had for the Sunday when we were leaving. Any time we went to the bar in the hotel we were impressed, with the staff there extremely helpful and chatty.
The only (minor) downpoint, was the lack of air con in the room, and I don't think it would have been a problem, were it not for the unseasonably warm Halloween we've had! All in all though, it was a superb hotel, and well worth spending the money on
Wanted to stay in a smaller, quaint town near Thorpe Park before going on to London. The Manor Hotel was charming and very close to the metro. One stop to Windsor and a few stops to Thorpe. Reminded us of Fawlty Towers. LOVED our stay!! Room was of course on the small side, like most European hotels, but very clean. The staff at the bar was very accomodating with answers to all of our questions concerning the best way to get to where we needed to go. Get a pint (or 2!!) and sit out on the patio and relax after traveling about. The Italian restaurant service and food was great, as well as The Stag Restaurant. Enjoyed both meals very much. Stop in at the Wine Stack across the street. The owners are the nicest people and can help you choose a wine that will be perfect to enjoy. We enjoyed the small English town of Datchet so much, we will definitely stay there again when we go to England. London is so fast paced, it was definitely nice to visit this lovely town.
I flew in from the west coast of the US and needed a place to stay the night prior to setting out. Airport hotels are... airport hotels. The Olde Bell showed up as within 30 minutes from Heathrow, right on the Thames. The drive was simple, the hotel immaculate. All the touches of a fine old hotel. I will be bringing the family back next time!
