“A Comfortable Stay at St Trinians”

A well equipped conference hotel within a very charismatic old manor and grounds. I had a very comfortable and spacious room. Very comfortable and very clean. Good selection at breakfast. A pleasant change from faceless hotel chain clones.

“Great end of vacation hotel”

This is the perfect place to stay at the end of a UK vacation. It's right on the Thames, but an easy drive to Heathrow. Beautiful grounds and old, classic main building, but nice modern rooms

“sort out the housekeeping”

Ok people, how hard is it for housekeeping and reception to talk to one another so that rather than knocking on your door TWICE when u r sleeping they know you have checked out. Good grief people do i need a knock at 8.30 and 9.15 when I'm on holiday and having a lazy start??!! Check if I'm still there or if I've checked out. And like another reviewer mentioned - what is the problem with the air con - boiling or freezing. Sort it out

“Very expensive in relation to the quality”

This hotel has a great location (right on the Thames) but was a little dated and tired looking. The continental breakfast wasn't great and very expensive.

“Fantastic hotel with huge charm”

This hotel is a gem, went here on a self created spa weekend. Free access to the spa area was the selling point on this hotel. The hotel decor was very classic and the rooms were very spacious and well refined.

“It stands alone”

Hotel is a big old house on the river, beautiful location in the countryside, but way outside of Windsor, the nearest town - where parking is difficult. It is NOT located on Windsor Road, that name doesn't exist so finding the hotel was difficult, it's on Maidenhead Road! There are no other facilities, shops etc. around. The staff are not particularly helpful or "service-minded". The room was nice, clean and comfortable.

Area recommendations

Stay in Windsor, but find a place with parking provided.

“well worth a visit”

I was looking for somewhere outside Windsor to avoid the crowds/traffic and happened upon this place. A huge stroke of luck, it is an old mansion, very well converted into a hotel. The location is stunning -- riverside, with lots of grounds. And amenities -- health club, tennis, pitch and putt golf. Plus riverside walks and boating. The hotel is well maintained and the staff efficient. Plus, the food is excellent. Lunch and dinner prix fixe, but the selection is good and the quality excellent. Rooms were fine. The only possible "knock" on the place was the lack of free internet, which I regard as de rigeur for any hotel these days. But a tiny blemish on an otherwise excellent experience. Definitely worth a visit.

“Beautiful hotel and grounds with great staff but serious comfort concerns”

Staff was great. The grounds were spectacular. And the facility is classic historic British architecture and finishings. Beautiful The rooms are lacking air conditioning which made the stay in the room uncomfortable. They would only equip the bath rooms with one towel although when asked for more, we were provided an additional towel. Overall I think they need to improve service but it is not bad for the money.
