It was alright... But not value for money.

Nothing major to grumble about but nothing to rave about either. However, I wouldn't order a taxi through reception as in our experience you'll get a taxi who want to charge you over the odds. We were fortunate to be able to compare with another taxi that had just dropped people off. Don't be ripped off. And also, on arrival as we hadn't booked breakfast they offered us to pay £10.50 each there and then or it would be £15.90 in the morning. First of all, it's a buffet breakfast which is fine but is never worth £10.50 let alone £15.90. Secondly, to make breakfast a 'buy it now or it'll be more expensive later' deal says a lot about the type of hotel they're running. So there, seems I did have something to grumble about after all. Not value for money in my eyes, have had deals for grander hotels for a similar price!

Pretty good

We stayed here for a restaurant booking in nearby Bray which is a 5 minute car drive away. I would say the hotel is just above average. Front desk were friendly and helpful, the air conditioning in the room was hugely welcome on a very hot weekend. Our room was functional and clean with 2 double beds. Although the front of the hotel is a bit of concrete block, the rear gardens were also very welcoming. Our 1 night stay was overpriced compared to other parts of the UK and Europe but that is probably due to the proximity to Windsor and Bray rather than anything particular to this hotel. All in all, not a bad place to stay.

Complained about the room being hot.the air cond blew out hot air. Manager told me because the system was being over used. Then had wasp and small bugs on my bed and bath room. Showed the manager. Only when I complained on sat ,i was give a better room. Even thought I am a member of their priority club.

Stayed over weekend with a young child on way back from visiting belinham palace. Hotel was nice, clean room, had a room away from noisy bar. Reception welcoming, warm pool, also nice baby pool, children play area basic but at least recognised that little ones like to have some space too, breakfast on sunday a bit chaotic, busy, getting on top of some staff, who we could see were becoming stressed, but still tried to manage their best. All in all still nice weekend away. Not sure however whether would rate this hotel as 4 star as stayed in many and in comparison some atention to detail is missed.

Well located hotel.

Pros: Location
Cons: Address the two issues of Wifi and bath towels.
Location: Explore the riverside attractions, take a river cruise and lunch at the wonderful Blue River Cafe near Maidenhead Bridge.
Two adverse comments cause me to give it an overall rating of 3 out of 5. The first is that although there were plenty of towels in the bathroom, there we no large bath towels. We spoke to reception who very promptly supplied these missing items. The second is that I signed up for the IHG Rewards club and were told that we would be able to access 'Free Wifi' in about an hour. This never happened - in the first hour or at any other time in our overnight stay or the next morning before checking out. On the plus side all staff were very professional and very attentive, especially the Resturant staff and even more especially those on duty the evening of the day we checked in.

I had the privilige of staying in the hotel for one night prior to a 125 mile charity cycle I had to do the following morning. I arrived late on the night of my stay and was warmly greeted by the staff where I found them very helpful in accommodating my brand new £1k bicycle by storing it away from me. The following morning I rose at 6am and asked a staff member if they could cook my porridge the way I want it cooked, it was met with no resistance and I had a perfect breakfast and that all helped to ensure I completed my gruelling 125 mile cycle that day. The bedroom and the communal areas were top drawer, it exceeded my expectations. This hotel is a benchmark for other Holiday Inn hotels!

This hotel looks awful from the outside but it's more than adequate inside - clean rooms with a modern communal area. It's nothing fancy but does the job.
