Great hotel, one of the best in Newbury

Posted 23-Dec-2014
Excellent hotel, always very comfortable and the facilities are great. Only thing I miss is the Innocent smoothie cartons, they were a great perk, which I know is an opinion shared by many of my Vodafone employees.

Good location for M4. In need of update decorative

Posted 30-Oct-2014
Pros: The bedroom was comfortable
Cons: Decoratively it could be improved
Location: Things to do are on leaflets around and I used to live nearby so know about them
Lady on reception was great. Breakfast food cold and hard and tasted like it had been cooked on Sunday evening. Not nice. Also the Guest Relations manager was sitting with a couple and noticed the people behind me were looking for attention to give an order. Instead of getting a dining room staff member he took the order himself. Then when the waffles arrived the staff member did not notice there was no knife and fork to eat it! Hotel common parts very scruffy and disappointing. Otherwise for me the stay was great.

Rolig og landlig

Posted 15-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
Alt var ordentlig, hyggelig betjening. Beliggenhet litt utenfor alfarsveg, men Donnington "landsbyen" med et par greie vertshus godt innenfor en spassertur. Newbury, koslig småby ca 40 minutters gangtid unna.

Luxurious spa, great food & wine

Posted 07-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The big feature of this hotel is the spa - which is modern and luxurious. A lovely swimming pool - plus trio of sauna, steam room and jacuzzi = a very relaxing experience. We also had a couples massage treatment - which was great, but certainly not cheap. Service in the hotel was very good, the food was excellent and the wine selection huge - but again certainly not to be considered cheap (reasonable value though). Only real down side for us was the bed in the room which was very hard and not that comfortable. Overall i would return.

Older rooms of the hotel need a little updating. Spa is a fantastic addition to this hotel

Really lovely hotel and relaxing stay.

Pros: Delicious room service and spacious room
We loved this hotel. We booked an executive room and had a very relaxing stay after a break shopping in London. The pool and surrounding areas were very nice and the room service was absolutely delicious. It was our anniversary whilst we stayed and the hotel very kindly left a card and fruit plate in our room. Would definitely recommend!

Nice hotel, nice location

Enjoyed this hotel, good facilities and friendly staff, only down side I'd say was the position of the TV in the room, I had a twin room, which was just your average room, but the TV was positioned on the same side of the room as the top of the bed, not very practical! But bar that minor detail, no problems.
