Adequate budget hotel in centre of Bergerac well position for the centre and with more than adequate facilities. Parking place in a secure location to rear yard. Didn't eat or drink at the hotel as there were numerous other places win walking distance. Would have no hesitation staying here again.

i reserved a room for the tour de france and to my surprise found two of the premier teams staying there and still checked in. i could not leave my luggage (security reasons) so carried it back into town where the tourist office kept it for me. i thoroughly enjoyed the tour. my room was ready when i returned that evening. it was simple but clean. staff very friendly and accommodating. there is a restaurant on the premises but during my stay booked for the cycling teams. restaurant (buffalo grill) across the street...nothing fancy but decent food. there are also grocery stores nearby. however, it is remote so a car comes in handy. a good continental breakfast in the morning at a reasonable price.

I was allocated a second floor (of two) flat with lounge/kitchen, bedroom with en-suite. Bigger than I expected, large balcony, very well-equipped and very clean. TV had only French stations.
Very quiet, much to do with the solid build quality of the rooms and also to do with the reserved nature of the (mostly French) clientele.
The staff spoke goodish English, were very pleasant , accessable and helpful.
The pool and mini gym were adequate.
E Leclerc supermarket 10 min walk away, Lidl 20 min. Pleasant country park with lake just 50 yards away.
You need to hire a car really. Also , it is not a very lively place.
Surrounded by vineyards and tobacco fields, this small inland port looks more towards Bordeaux than the Dordogne. A Maison des Vins in an ancient convent and a couple of museums pay homage to local industries and a once-thriving river trade. Rostand’s hero Cyrano presides over a quiet square in the old town, though his links with Bergerac are purely fictional. South of town, Château de Monbazillac showcases Bergerac’s celebrated dessert wine.
