“reasonably priced for Bergen and great location”
Hotel location is ideal for tourists, within walking distance of the harbour and close to everything. The room is clean and adequate but the bathroom is very small with a drain in the floor and a curtain for the shower. Breakfast is brought to your door each morning - a ham and cheese sandwhich (you can request others), a juice box and an apple. For those on a budget this is ideal. It is significantly cheaper than most hotels in Bergen.
“convenient hotel”
breakfast in a bag could be improved
“OK as basic student dorm-type hotel”
Hotel staff friendly and helpful with one exception (out of 5-6) - conditions of room are basic with few outlets but comfortable beds. Cleanliness adequate and towels few but ok. Shower is not contained, so need extra towels to mop up the floor after each shower so next person using bathroom does not slip. Hotel provided hot water carafe to boil own water, which helps for tea-drinkers. Supermarket just opposite is convenient to bring in food and help offset the outrageous prices of restaurants in Bergen (even worse than Oslo, which is bad enough!). So, as a student-dorm hotel it is ok, but overpriced by any standard except that of Bergen.
“Warning”
You need to be prepared if you stay here...This place is much worse than any roadside motel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The bar below plays loud music until very late at night so it's almost impossible to sleep. When the music does finally stop, you just become more aware of how bad the mattress is. The bathrooms are TINY and look like something out of a documentary about prison lifel. The shower is basically over the toilet- like something on a small boat or a train. There is no closet, no refrigerator, no coffee, no ice. The breakfast is a stale sandwich and warm juice box tied to your doorknob. Most of the staff, with one or two exceptions, seem totally disinterested will avoid eye contact and barely answer basic questions like "where is the nearest bank, etc.". I have travelled to at least 30 countries, including many in 'developing nations' and former communist bloc, often while on a limited budget and this is pretty bad. Of course, to add insult to injury the price is very high but that's fairly normal in Norway.
“Bergen hotel”
Even after reading somewhat negative reviews of this hotel, I booked it anyway. We requested a room at the back (quieter) and were given one that was great. Overall, the price was my deciding factor. the location was convenient. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. I would say, if your expectations are not too grand, that this hotel is a good deal.
“Would you this Hotel again”
Nicely located to the tourist attractions in Bergen, 300m away from the bus stop going to the airport. Front desk staff very helpful. Would stay at this Hotel again.
“Bar next door - Music til the wee hours”
Bass Music vibrates the walls
“Good hotel in perfect midtown location at reasonable price.”
The hotel is perfectly located midtown. Staff is friendly and helpful. I can recommend the hotel.
“Great”
Great vaule in expensive Norway. Good location within walking distance of the train station and other sights, and about 3 blocks from an airport shuttle stop. Friendly staff, clean room, sandwhich left outside the room for breakfast every morning. Would absolutely stay here again, as well as consider staying in one of their hotels in other major cities on Norway.
“Great location”
Hotel was two short blocks from airport bus stop. Hotel is right in downtown Bergen and close to the tourist bureau and many points of interest and museums. Free access to computer in lobby. Close to the harbor where we caught our cruise ship. Not as fancy as some of the bigger hotels, but quite adequate
