“Looking forward to our next visit!”

Great location within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable with a small balcony providing views of Lake Michigan and the river.

“Over priced”

Stayed here due to a wedding. While the price makes you think of a fancy hotel, the rooms are outdated, worn carpet, broken and damaged furniture. The bed was comfortable, but when we called to get an extra blanket, we were told the hotel had none. When we tried to use the phone.,there were no instructions on what numbers did what. The parking lot is too small for a hotel of this size. On returning from the wedding, we were amazed to find all of the parking spots taken ,forcing us to find parking elsewhere. Also there was no information in the rooms for any goings on in the area.Upon checkout ,found a charge for safe usage on my bill. They did remove the charge. Why put a safe in the room and then try to charge for it, the overpriced charge for the room should have covered it

“St. Joseph, MI”

Great location, no car needed! Room could be cleaner and updated but for the last minute price and location it was worth it. A box of clorax wipes are all you need 

Dining
Must eat at Tim Too's..

“so-so”

I booked this hotel thinking that it was going to be beach front. When they say balconys I assumed that meant we would see lake but...the beach was 5 blocks from the hotel which didn't include the walking distance to actually get on the beach. 5 blocks isn't far but when you are carrying all your beach gear and you are with people who aren't in the best of shape then 5 blocks is quite the walk. They do offer parking by the beach for $5 for all day which was worth it. The hotel was decent...the front entrance has been remodeld so its kind of deceiving when you actually get up the the rooms and they are outdated. The only real problem we had was there was no hot water for the sink. The beds were decent. Also, if you are a person that gets cold then take extra blankets because your bed comes with 2 sheets and a blanket in between the 2 sheets. I can't say that I will ever stay here again because for what I paid I would have expected more things to do at the hotel. The swimming pool was indoors but its dated. The hotel bar didn't open until 5 and there wasn't much else to do at the hotel. If you are going to just sleep there and spend time at the beach the majority of the day then yes I would recommend the hotel. Everyone (staff) wise was friendly.

Getting there
Getting there was very simple and its easy to find.
Getting around
The only time you really need to drive is if you are going to leave St. Joseph
What to pack
If you plan on going to the beach then pack what you want to take on the beach...ie towels, blankets, chairs, beachball, food, drinks....etc...also if you get cold then take extra blankets for your bed
Shopping
St. Joe offers cute little shops that you can walk to from the hotel
Dining
Shu's restaurant was my favorite, it is a must when there. They have a restaurant called Pump house and I didn't like that at all. They also have a ice cream/fudge shop called kilwans..wonderful! They had a couple cafes for breakfast type foods that were excellent too

“Great location, will go back again!”

After reading previous reviews I was nervous to see the hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, service and location. Although it was pricey for one night, I would go back again. The location to the beach and shopping areas are wonderful. Had a great time.

“When in St. Joseph”

Great location overlooking the historic St. Joe River. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable of local activities. Caught a very interesting art deco auction on the bluffs near the Boardwalk on Saturday that wouldn't have known of w/out word from staff.

“This hotel takes advantage of the location and jacks up the price”

it's way overpriced. They jacked up the price just because of a special triathlon in town. The hotel is old molded and basically a dump.

“Silver Beach 4th of July 2010”

Courteous staff, luggage carts readily available, price matched what Expedia said it would be. Balcony had cigarette butts all over it, and dried food on it. Inside room was clean. Staff brought extra towels within 5 minutes of calling front desk. Continental breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, milk, orange juice, coffee, water, and fresh fruit.
