Old hotel nr to BLR airport

Posted 15-Jun-2014
Average hotel, should offer better facilities for the price charge Overall the landscaping and surroundings can be better with renovation. Food is average for a 4 star hotel. I rate this as 3 star

Quiet India

Royal Orchid is a great respite from the intensity that is often time "India"..We hope to return to the Royal Orchid on our next visit to Bangalore.... Internet service needs to be improved, however....

Freindly, efficient service

Posted 24-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Had to use the business center and they didn't charge me for 10 minutes of internet use and printing six pages. Pros: Room was well sized, hotel staff were extremely polite and went out of the way to please, comfortable room. Cons: NO Elevator (although the hotel has only Ground+2 Floors, one is needed), room fittings need an upgrade (not too bad though).

Bad old India tourism

Posted 12-Jan-2010
Compared to the same chain's excellent hotel in Mysore, this one is reminiscent of the bad old days of travel in India when nothing was quite right. The entrance is dark and barren, with only very loud music from beyond to suggest life. There's no lift, so make sure to arrive and leave when there are staff about to carry bags. The room had been modernized but the shower drain was blocked and there was no hot water when we left in the middle of the night for our flight. Checking out took an age, with very slow processing of our not at all complicated bill. Fortunately friends took us out for dinner but, had we stayed in, we wouldn't have been able to find a quiet niche in the restaurant. Only positives were that room service was excellent and the hotel is tolerably close to the new airport.

Hotel under renovation

Posted 27-Aug-2008
The room that we ended up with was very nice and looked like the room on the brochure, as well as had all of the amenities. However, the first room that they put us in was a DISGUSTING, filthy, mildewy, un-renovated room, and they didn't put us into the renovated room until we made somewhat of a "stink." Hopefully in a few months, all of the rooms will be renovated, and that won't be a problem. I chose this hotel because it was closer to the airport than the hotels in the center of the city. Besides the room issue, the service was good, as well as the restaurant, and once the renovations are done, it will be a very nice place to stay.
