Liked the roof top resturant, view and general cleanliness. Also liked the breakfast menu and general hospitality team Did not like the bath tubs- they are old and stained. Should change to shower cubicles as they are more hygenic and easier to keep clean. The linen and towels were a bit faded though.

Avoid it! We paid the room in advance. When we arrived at 10:55pm, after enjoying a wonderful day and amazing dinner in Chicago, we were kicked off out of the place as this hotel sold out our paid room to someone else - they overbooked the hotel, charging for it. The staff at lobby asked us to leave as the reception would close in 5 minutes and she has no place for us. When I said that we paid the room in advance - she said: "that is not my problem". I travel a lot and for many years, and such a thing has never happened before anywhere. So, be warned! Don't book here.

This place is probably worth the money (I didn't pay too much) for the view, which is amazing. All the rooms have a great view of the skyline, especially as you get higher. However, it's an old building, and you can tell. A lot of little oddeties in design and wholes in carpet, weird issues with plumbing, old towels, etc. take away from the comfort factor. The breakfast is fine, but had better quality in every other hotel I stayed in Minas. But again, view is great!

Hotel staff always worry with their services. Perhaps, the hotel needs some maintenance, as it started to look old.

Always an amazing stay
Everything was great! The manager is very helpful and kind. We went during carnaval, the streets were hectic but the security of the hotel was excellent. Gave out braclets to identify who was staying at the hotel there were no problems.

Don's Stay Here
Don't stay at this Hotel. Upgraded to a Super Deluxe room and found it to be well worn and not clean. Hotel is due for a major upgrade. Staff not responsive to problems. Water taps in Bathroom constantly dripping (so much for ecological hotel as the sign in room states!) never repaired after 3 request for maintenence! Mold in bathroom see photos, dirty carpet see photos, Broken and loose tiles see photos, worn bed clothes... etc. etc. etc. All bad.

First I was really impressed with Expedia. My previous hotel was under maintenance and they call me to find another place for me with no charge. I was really surprised! The hotel was great! I was on 17th floor and the view was awesome!! Really nice place to work with a big table, nice bed, amazing restaurant on the top floor with a great pool. Friendly Staff and amazing food.

Vintage hotel done right!
We enjoyed the large spacious rooms and the friendly and professional staff. The hotel dates back to the 1970's but it is still of very good quality. Breakfast was okay, and it could use a little improvement. Overall the Belo Horizonte Othon Palace is good value for money! This was our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely come back again.

Othon Palace Stay
The only negative we can think of was that it was a little noisy outside of the hotel. The service was outstanding. The breakfast couldn't have been better! The rooms are carpeted and could use a little tender loving care. Overall, a great deal for the price!

Had a great time. My only disappointment was a request to add a new bed to my 4 yo nephew and nobody gave attention.

Very Nice Hotel
The room was dated but historically interesting, clean and very big. The public spaces of the hotel were very nice and breakfast was typical of Brazilian offerings but done very well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Carnaval parades go right in front of the hotel and it's an easy walk to the blocos near and under the viaduto.

Hotel with great view of the city
This is my favorite hotel to stay in Belo Horizonte. They have a nice pool with a bar and restaurant on the top floor. Everybody who works there is super polite. They have an excellent breakfast and the WIFI works great. The bathrooms are a bit out dated, but I don't travel to look at bathrooms. I highly recommend this hotel.

Only spent a couple of nights this time but I am a regular visitor to the Othon I am a regular visitor to the Othon as it is one of the few hotels that offer bathtubs in their rooms, pool, restaruant, decent breakfast variety and taste, room service, personnel with half-decent English skills who are all very friendly and welcoming. Their rate may may be slightly higher than other similar.

Nice Stay
Othon as always provided a nice experience. The staff remember you and are very courteuos and attentive. Facilities are generally good. Breakfast is well done. Room service is prompt. Meals are great.

The hotel staff is courteous and checkin is quick. The room face a large noisy park and a lot of street noise.

Front desk staff was great. Room was huge. Rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable. Wifi was spotty - did not work at times. Restaurant service was very slow, but fantastic view from 25th floor restaurant.

As always we had a very good stay.
The safe did not work in our room and maintenance was unable to repair it,so they upgraded us to a new room immediately. As always the complement breakfast is the best of any hotel we have ever stayed.Only complaint? They still charge R$20.00 per day for Wi-fi
