“Attempted to overcharge”
On check-out the hotel clerk advised that the check-in clerk had added extra an charge for two people. After brief discussion we verified we had in fact booked for 4 people. The disappointing part was finding out that that check-in clerk made no attempt to verify her facts with expedia, nor us, the customers who possessed the documentation to verify. Also found that despite the hotel being largely empty this time of year we were given one of the poorer quality rooms, for both views and room amenities. In future we will exercise our consumer prerogative to stay elsewhere.
“Great getaway”
This resort is in great condition. I had a large room with a wood burning fireplace (logs provided), a desk, oversized chair, minifridge and microwave. I was on the ground floor and had a door out onto the lawn with two chairs for enjoying the view of the bay. Nice bathrobes in the closet. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee maker all included The staff was very accomodating. Room service was prompt and the food was great. We loved the Packer's bar for a drink and/or dinner. We will go again for a relaxing get away in a beautiful location. The room was clean and in good repair. My only wish was for a comforter/quilt for the bed or extra blanket.
“Very Nice But Over Priced”
A beautiful setting but isolated. Expensive to eat in the restraunts, but there are no other restraunts within walking distance. Closest is 10-15 miles aways as is a grocery store. If you are not into tennis, golf or boating not much to do at the resort itself. The rool was huge whcih included a hide-a-bed sofa, and arm chair. The TV was outdated and did not have sound on three important channels and the remote did not work all of the time.
“Lovely and relaxing”
Although the Blaine/Birch Bay area isn't too exciting, and the beaches in the area aren't as desirable as some, the Resort and Spa was beautiful, relaxing, and a perfect getaway.
“A Relaxing Getaway - Will Return!”
We went for an overnight getaway with another couple and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were very nice and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and gracious. The boys golfed the Loomis course on a sunny day in June - I understand there is water in play at every hole but they still did great. Beautiful views and a really nice club house. The staff were great about sending us girls some information regarding local hiking trails and we were impressed with the information and the hike! Pine and cedars trail was about 40 minutes away - about 1,000 ft in elevation in the first mile. Not for the faint of heart but a great workout. We ate at the casual restaurant (not Stars) and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. No complaints!
“Semiahmoo a good retreat”
My wife and I enjoyed a one-night getaway at Semiahmoo last weekend. The location is peaceful, the room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. We even witnessed a proposal on the beach at sunset. If they decided to upgrade their food, they'd be on my list of outstanding local resorts. Also, there was a wedding party at the hotel that was staying across from us, and they were loud until 1:00+ AM. However, all in all it was a great experience for a couple looking to get away from life's stresses.
“A great place to unwind!”
We loved our 33-night stay at Semiahmoo (and we don't play golf). It's the little things that count and Semiahmoo scored a hit with us. Stellar service by all staff members! I had the beach to myself in the morning, a very quiet, clean and well-appointed room, Seattle Times newspaper at the door each morning, a latte bar in the lobby. A unique location with several small surrounding towns to explore. A very easy drive from Seattle.
“Cant be beat!”
During the week, low volume and 2 hour sunsets over the Sound make this one of the best destination resorts I can think of in the Northwest. Great food, service, and views at Packers Lounge (attached) are top notch too. Beautiful paths along the spit and a great fitness room/pool area give plenty of activity even for the non-golfer. It remains one of our favorites!
“Lovely location; hotel looks/feels dated”
nice place, but not exactly a luxury hotel or resort. The hotel looks dated and the room we stayed in needed a paint job, the woodwork was all chipped -- I just left thinking that it was nice, pretty location but a little tired as a hotel.
“Gorgeous views. Needs better pillows.”
My wife and I went to Semahmoo for a quick getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We are from Vancouver so it is a quick drive to Semiahmoo. The views were gorgeous. Our room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfy and the room amenities were as expected. My only complaint about the room was the pillows...they were flat. We dined at the restaurant. It was nice. We picked the quieter side. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The service was good - however, I remember the waitress saying "What?" to me when she didn't hear what I had said. Not exactly what I want to remember from a fine dining experience. All in all, it was a good reasonably priced get away.
