Castillo Rojo is a very a nice boutique hotel. It was formerly the home of a wealthy person and the current owners have upgraded and restored the property to its current beautiful state. It looks like a Restoration Hardware store in some respects - very modern in a retro way but very tastefully done. We stayed twice on our trip to Chile sandwiching a 2 night stay in Vina del Mar and had 2 different rooms. Both were nice though our second room was larger than the first. Breakfast was included and consisted of toast, a slice of ham and cheese or butter and jelly, coffee, juice, yogurt and a fresh order of eggs which you could have in their restaurant or outside in the back patio. The hotel has some extremely friendly and helpful staff who asked if we needed maps and gave us instructions on how to get to and take the bus to Vina del Mar. They held our luggage for us while we were away for the side trip. They helped call us a cab for our early flight when we left for Punta Arenas. No complaints at all , we would definitely stay again.
We stayed here for six days which gave us time to explore Santiago. The apartment is in a great location to get to places. There are lots of restaurants of all prices close by. The apartments are new and well appointed. We had one overlooking the pool. It was nice to have breakfast on the balcony. The pool is freezing, but a five minute dip at the end of a hot day sight seeing was very welcome.
Can't speak highly enough of the staff, incredibly helpful.
We hope to stay agian at the end of our trip to Chile. A five star start to our holiday.
I enjoyed my stay at scl apartments. The location was very convenient in barrio bellavista, very close to good restaurants and many of the city's sights. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Overall very satisfied, found it to be a good choice for what I paid.
Lovely little hotel, situated across the river from downtown, but excellent location. The hotel serves a nice breakfast. Fruit juice, fresh fruit, rolls, toast, sliced meats and cheeses, jam, yoghurt, cereal and a gentleman offered to make us scrambled eggs. Remember this is a small hotel so you won't get a huge variety of each item, but you certainly won't starve. We had a small but very comfortable room on the second floor, there is no elevator. It looked out onto a leafy patio where quite a few people sat during our stay. My brother and wife stayed on the ground floor and their room was much bigger, so I guess it's the luck of the draw, but we were very happy. Everything you need is there, good hot shower, air conditioning, a safe and a comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful, even though their English was not their first language, they made a huge effort. They arranged a car service to the airport for us which was great.
