As soon as you arrive you are greeted at the dock with a drink, things just get better from there. All of the rooms are name after fruit, ours was raspberry and we had a perfect view of the ocean even though I don't think you can have a bad view. The food at the restaurant (Mambo) was delicious and plentiful whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. Of course the desserts were my favorite with a tie between the caramel flan and chocolate soufflé. The staff was very nice, Sam was especially helpful and never tired of all our questions. Israel really knows how to make the best mango smoothie w/dble shot of vodka. I can't wait to go back.
From the time that we arrived until the time that we left El Secreto, each detail of our stay was thought of in advance.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Ken, Manager of El Secreto with watermelon drinks and refreshing towels after a very long journey. Ken is one of the nicest, professional and accommodating resort managers we have ever met. Upon walking on to the premises to check-in (which is paradise btw), we were given a 5 minute complimentary neck and shoulder massage... We knew then that we were in store for a truly relaxing experience.
The staff is beyond attentive, friendly and helpful with any need you may have. The rooms are designed for both romance and pure relaxation. The resort is extremely secluded and quiet but each villa also provides privacy with an enclosed outdoor shower and private hot tub.
The restaurant and bar serve up incredible drinks with very helpful staff to answer any questions along the way. Room service is also beautifully delivered for a relaxing dinner in your private villa. Ken, Sherry and Norvani were some of the most helpful people I have ever met while vacationing and ensured that our tour, requests and meals were well in order. The rooms are also amazing with King size Tempur-Pedic beds, controllable mood lighting, etc.
If you're giving the opportunity to stay for El Secreto, take it. The only problem is that you may never want to leave!
Beautiful resort in the heart of adventure. Explore the jungles caves and Mayan ruins during the day and return to luxury comfort and five star dining at night.

An extraordinary resort with meticulous kept grounds, fabulous swimming pool area and enough adventures to last a lifetime. The food was excellent, drinks were generous and the hotel staff all rate five stars for efficiency, friendliness and going above and beyond to meet our every need. We are senior citizens who did ziplines, cave tubing and exploration, snorkeling and explored ancient Mayan ruins. If you are not adventurous (or worn out) you can enjoy the pool and hot tub, walk the grounds to see beautiful floral life, birds, lizards and other interesting sights which you will never encounter in your home town. We met numerous wonderful people from throughout the United States and the world which made the vacation that much more enjoyable. From the groundskeepers, kitchen staff, room service personnel to the unbelievable individuals who do it all from greeting, waiting, bartending to sharing many moments of their personal lives which made the experience feel like a marvelous family reunion with members you never knew existed. It definitely is a vacation spot I would recommend to friends and would never hesitate for a second if asked "Would you go back there again?"
Everything from the start was amazing with it beginning with our bags being hand delivered to our room right as we got out of the airport shuttle. It was followed up with a warm greeting from Javier at the counter giving us a tour of the resort with some insight of the area to the complimentary drinks and refreshing face towels from Lucy. At night time we were served with delicious drinks at the bar from our gracious bartender Derby giving us some more insights of Belize. We were then greeted by Sonia for our dinner where every table whether outside or inside was a delight for the atmospheric enjoyment. The dinner portion as well as choices were very mouth watering as well as generous portions size. Sonia had informed us of the daily dinner specials which was great to have as it was a dish from the locals. In the morning we decided to head down to the little island oasis that the lodge has with its scenic swim area to a relaxing swing on the hammock. Internet is available to check emails if need be. The best part was our last night at dinner, where the staff arrange a special table as we were to leave the next day. I don't want to get too much into detail as it might ruin future guests. From start to finish the staff of Javier, Derby, Sonia, and Lucy made our stay very welcoming and homey. I give this place a 5 out of 5.
This was our first visit to Belize! X'Tan Ha on the gorgeous Ambergris Caye is just 7 miles north of San Pedro Town. We flew from Atlanta to Belize City and then to San Pedro on Tropic Air and took the water taxi to the resort. Getting there is half the fun :)
Christian met us at the dock with cool scented cloths to refresh our faces and Fabio from the beach bar met us with cold rum punch. From the very start we were treated like family. Oliver (Manager) and Buddy (gorgeous retriever) checked in and chatted with us daily to see if we were enjoying our stay. The staff here is outstanding.
I loved the early morning sunrise hammock time on our porch. The views were amazing, It was the perfect place to play, snorkel, swim and also to renew, relax and rest. the food was delish, and we also enjoyed going into San Pedro Town for some of the local eats. No Worries Tours is right on premise and they offer a lot of things to on the water and on the mainland. We loved the resort so much that we opted to stay and enjoy. Next time we will do some touring though. Can't wait to go back!
A great hotel on the beach with separate thatched roof rooms. Food is the best you could ask for and the service is excellent. They have a dive center on site. Only one problem is you have to take a boat to town, but you can walk to two other hotels if you want to take in a different meal. You can rent a boat with a guide to take you fishing first then snorkel then you go and have a bar-b-q what you brought in fishing. That was so much fun.
