“Impressed seems a bit inadequate, our stay at the "FItz" was wonderful.”
My Husband and I stayed at the "Fitz" for a weekend visit to see our Son. The hotel was on offer on Expedia and we had seen the hotel on a previous visit to Belfast. We arrived at the hotel quite early and the rooms are not allo9cated until after 2pm, however as I'm slightly disabled they offered (without me asking) to see how quickly a room would be available for us. By 12.30pm we had our room. The room itself was huge, with a Kingsize bed, a beautiful 4 seater sofa, Flat screen TV, Sound system, Fridge(make sure you check the prices before you dive in) dressing Table/desk and double wardrobe with ironing table and iron. Then theres the bathroom, a shower which would fit 4 people, a huge bath complete with candles and beautiful fluffy towels. We will be going back and the staff were fab, caring and polite and not pushy. Anything you want to know about the Concierge will know about, the girls on reception were lovely too. To to it all the "Fitz" is next door to the theatre and Opera House.
“Just a lovely place to stay”
The Fitzwilliam Hotel is a fantastic hotel, centrally located, elegant styling and lovely food. The rooms are of a very high standard, with huge comfortable beds and quality bathrooms. Staff a friendly and welcoming. I have spent a lot of time in Hotels whilst working in Northern Ireland and they are generally of a very high standard the Fitzwilliam is a notch above the rest.
“Refreshing change”
I was expecting the usual city centre fare and this was a refreshing change; helpful concierge and staff, pleasant surroundings, excellent location.
“A good place to stay in Belfast”
Apart from finding a banana left under a cushion, our room was clean, spacious, well furnished, well equipped and comfortable. There was a bath and a separate shower in our bathroom. The minibar 'automatically charges' if anything is moved, so be careful if you place anything inside it. The TV has a restricted number of channels, but that wasn't a problem, as there is so much to do in Belfast. The hotel staff were very helpful, though we did not use the bar or restaurant as there are so many other very good options just a short walk from the hotel. We didn't bother with a continental breakfast at £11 per person. The hotel is very close to the city centre and most attractions, including the city tour buses. Beware of the many people selling tickets for the buses, some are quite aggressive in their sales approach. We would recommend 'Home Refound' as a good place to eat.
“Great location”
Very good hotel good location good staff
“Upscale hotel in Belfast”
Very new hotel, with a great location and attentive staff. Bar and bar food were good. Breakfast was nothing great, but there are a lot of options nearby to satisfy.
“Excellent hotel in city.”
This is a top hotel well situated in the city. The staff were really lovely and the food excellent. The rooms were top class and having a couch to sit on was a bonus as many hotels have no seating. Would definitely recommend it.
“Stylish and good value”
Some business colleagues and I had a great stay. THe hotel is very clean and tidy and the rooms are really nice. The bar is simple but fine. Breakfast was great. I had a small problem with my room (shower pump was making a noise) but reception swaped me without fuss and apologised. I'd recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
“1st class service & extremely friendly”
A brilliant location and 1st class service, the staff can not do enough for you and are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are lovely & comfortable and decorated/furnished very fashionably. Bathroom spacious with large bath & separate large shower. The little finishing touches with candles left in bedroom & bathroom are nice. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The food served is fresh, tasty & plentiful. The only very very small downside to this hotel is the lack of low fat choices to the menu , poorly lit corridors and lack of natural light in the bar area, however they offer a great selection of drinks served with a smile. Plenty to do in the very near vicinity of the hotel and the tours offered are great inside and out of the hotel. The concierges are very helpful with local knowledge and advice. Belfast is a great friendly city with plenty to do and spoilt for choice for places to eat & drink each evening. The bars playing live music are great. I would definitely recommend Belfast and MOST definitely recommend this hotel. Cant wait to return.
“Boutique cool redefined”
My wife and I stayed at this hotel as we needed to be in Belfast for a professional meeting and planned to stay on for the weekend. From the moment we stepped into the lobby to the moment we left we loved it! Service is great, attentive, friendly and smooth but this hotel's true strength is in the top notch designer-cool of its rooms. Our room was based on a theme of black, yellow and polished chrome, and I was told by others staying there that on a different floor the highlight colour was lime green instead of yellow. The restaurant is equally as cool with its modern swivelling oak panels which allow the restaurant walls to "breathe" without losing sense of intimacy, and the tall red chairs which look equally as good at breakfast as at dinner. The cooked breakfast is great, I'd recommend the smoked salmon eggs benedict. Our only gripe was that the room was quite warm but I suppose in Belfast that's usually to be taken as a major benefit! Go there, you'll love it.
