“The right hotel in the right place”
The hotel is in Hamra which is the best place to be it has lots of restaurants and bars and good shops we were only 10 min walk from the sea with loverly walks along the corniche with its bars and restaurants and 20mins from downtown the hotel was nice and clean and very helpful staff try and catch roger the night manager he will help you with travel around the area ,we also enjoyed chilling in the hotel bar (Linas) with a coffee after a long day.
“Thank you Plaza Hotel!”
Plaza Hotel's location in Hamra is great and the staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The beds were comfortable and the room size was perfect. The hotel also arranged a private driver in an SUV for $100 to take us to Byblos, Jeita Grotto and Harissa and it was worth every penny. They also recommended excellent restaurants in the area (Istanbouli and Kebab-Ji). I would suggest adding on breakfast because they served a $12 Arabic style breakfast which was delicious and quite a good deal based on the expense of eating out in the area. The only suggestion I might have for the hotel is to give a complimentary water bottle per guest each day. Yes they have them available for purchase in the mini-bar but when you cannot drink the water it's a little gesture that's always appreciated.
“simple and nice”
the location was gr8, rooms aren't that luxorious yet satisfying, if its a short trip u might spend it there you'll probably spend only the night there so it'll be convenient.
“Not impressed”
Main failure: The hotel web site promises free parking. And it is not true.
“Getting Much More Than I Paid For”
I stayed just one day at the Plaza but I couldn't have been treated more graciously. The hotel upgraded me to a suite without my requesting it. It was a lovely room, well appointed and very clean. The staff continued to be helpful in guiding me to places such as a nearby swimclub to which I could walk, a nearby jazz club and a fine seafood restaurant. Lebanese hospitality was great throughout my week travels throughout the country and was easily matched by the staff at this hotel. The Hamra area in which it was located is very busy but I found the hotel pretty quiet for sleeping.
“Nice hotel”
Positive: The room we had booked wasn't available, so we got upgraded to a suite. This worked out great so that our baby could go to bed early while we stayed up in the other room. We loved the location of the hotel, close by the sea, had breakfast in a little restaurant, a 10 minute walk, and had the view over the Mediterranean. Negative: The bathroom hadn't been cleaned well before we arrived, with hairs in the tub, etc. We had requested a baby cot which wasn't available.
“Al-Hamrah Rd.”
it was a nice hotel and the location was very nice.
“Plaza Beirut”
The place is very conveniently located. Our stay was pleasant with the staff being polite and accommodating. Parking is a bit of a challenge (especially for non-Arabic speaking people) because you have to strike a deal with the lot attendant across the street. Nice cafe located right in the hotel. Excellent sandwiches.
“Great Location, better than some of the surrounding hotels but overpriced”
I was extremely happy to stay here because the Napoli Hotel across the street was trash...should be closed if they can't remodel it (The Plaza couldn't add an additional night so stayed at the Napoli for convenience, right across the street). The Plaza was decent and clean and excellent location. But, for the price I paid, I found little things in the room that could be improved, but didn't affect my stay or comfort. The thing I hated the most is not having internet access in the room. I had free wireless access in every hotel I stayed all over Turkey and Syria, but not when I got to Lebanon. Finding free wireless in Beirut, in the center of the city, was a challenge. But I managed to scout every restaurant and cafe in Hamra and found a couple that had free wireless.
“Bargain great hotel in Beirut”
Scored a great rate for this hotel in Beirut's best neighborhood and didn't know what to expect. Could not have been happier with it. Spacious room, clean, quiet, comfy. Wifi was not working but that seems par for the course in the city.
