“Excellent hotel in a good location”

We were delighted with the Swissotel - it was comfortable, our room was quiet, the staff were pleasant and helpful and it's situation was ideal for us, being right beside a subway station and also a regular supply of taxis drawing up at the entrance when needed. The breakfasts however were very expensive being extra to the rates charged for the room and we went out for breakfast (to Starbucks!) most days. We had the buffet breakfast on the one day when it rained and it was very good with an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes. A very nice touch was the vase of flowers and the card which appeared in our room on my birthday!

“very good”

Airport Express to Dongzhimen station; transfer easily to the subway to go just one stop to Dongsishitiao station. Exit C brings you right to the entrance of the Swissotel - REALLY convenient! * Also do take anything out of your mini bar, there is a 711 right behind the hotel, you can buy 10 sodas or beer, etc for what one would cost from the hotel.

“Nice hotel with great location”

Compared to the other hotels we stayed at on this trip, this one was a little less modern. Elevators were smaller, no wifi in room, and no way to plug in a flat iron in the bathroom. Good location, though, with a subway stop right out front. Just a block away from the Chinese Acrobats show, and within mini cab range of the Yanxin Market. Very helpful staff, and great rate on exchanging money (with no fee!). Concierge was especially helpful.

“Great hotel for anyone, primarily for adults.”

Beyond my expectations. I'd return. The service was awesome and lightning quick. Very clean, beautiful, and luxurious hotel with all the amenities of home and then some. Centrally located, with a metro stop right in front, which was very convenient. Close to many chic restaurants and with convenience stores, supermarkets and bakeries close-by. The hotel also had a bank and an ATM. Although I did not need to use it, I believe there is also a place that offers medical services.

“Good breakfast; translator available”

Very nice accommodations, Internet hook-up in the room w/desk. A kind translator was available. ...A little expensive, perhaps. Excellent breakfast buffet came with lodging. Right behind a main transit station which we didn't use, but my son and daughter-in-law say the high-speed train is a great and cheap trip to and from the airport. We booked a private Great Wall tour right in the lobby which worked well--less frantic than groups and bus trips if you have very few days in China. Otherwise, taxis are cheap, and it didn't cost much to do our own tour of the Forbidden City. It's a good idea to pick up a hotel card to give the taxi driver, if you don't speak the language. Definitely wished they had an airport shuttle.

“I wouldn't stay anywhere else after staying at the Swissotel Beijing.”

I have stayed there many times and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Swissotel to anyone! They have many English speaking and helpful and courteous staff. They have a dentist and doctoe office on site along with a bank, ATM, post office and full business center. The subway is right outside their front door. There is a & Eleven, Starbucks and McDonald across the street along with tons of great restaurants, spas and the Yashow Market within walking distance. Don't bother looking anywhere else.

“Wonderful staff, pleasant and helpful. Most spoke English and were so attentive.”

We were travelling with our 21 year old son and asked to have one room but with either two queens or a fold out couch. Our room had a nice little living room area with a tv, couch and chairs and they put a rollaway bed in that space for our son which was perfect. The view was great, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was very nice. (no smelly drains as in some Chinese hotels) We were so comfortable. We arrived around 12 - 12:30 and they had a room ready for us. The day we left we asked for a later check out time and that was "no problem." The pool was very clean and the outdoor deck was a great place to relax and read for a bit. Cabs were waiting outside the door and the subway was right out front. Lobby was under construciton so that made it confusing for coming and going. The outdoor patio Beer Den had great food and beer and the breakfast buffet was pricey but amazing - go for mid morning brunch! It'll last you all day!
