So, we decide to splurge a little and make reservations for the last night in Beijing at Han's Royal Garden Hotel, and we were not disappointed! Right off the bat we are notified that we'd get a free upgrade to a suite (there were only two normal rooms available when we arrived, so I think they wanted to put us in a more expensive room to clear the way for any potential late night arrivals). To make it even better, the room was already booked at a 50% discount!
The hotel is built around and inside an ancient (1450s) Ming dynasty general's residence, and is absolutely stunning. It is both quiet and secluded, despite being right in the middle of the bustling night life area of Beijing. The room itself was fantastic; living room and bedroom with plenty of space, and a bathroom spacious enough to host a Mongolian horde if they ever decide to invade again.
The staff were super friendly and professional, including several westerners, making it easier to communicate if you should have any issues. The room service is affordable and the Cheesecake is absolutely to die for. Both delicious and juicy, it only sets you back $3.50 even when ordered at 1am. Fast internet comes with the room.
The only issue is that in the middle of summer it can get a little humid. There is nothing really to be done with it though, as the air conditioning was working perfectly, and made it nice and cool.
Would definitely recommend.
Excellent all around! Location was fantastic (and right on top of the subway station) and the room was great too. The VIP combo deal with the flight ticket was also unbeatable. Very highly recommended!!!
And the icing on the cake is that Morton's steakhouse is also in the hotel! However Morton's is not part of the hotel operation so the VIP discount on food does not apply to Morton's.
Wonderful hotel, especially for the price. Stayed in a very nice, luxurious room and the rates were very good. Probably the nicest hotel I have stayed at and also one of the cheapest. Not a combination you find very often. The room was beautiful, well kept and very clean. The only thing that wasn't the greatest was the location. There isn't too much close to the hotel. I am staying there again on another upcoming trip to Beijing.
Hotel is a bit out of the way for a quick trip to see main sites, but the new area it is in called the Arts District is extremely interesting and eclectic with lots coffee shops and restaurants like a new Soho!
Luxury hotel in Beijing. The hotel has 30 luxury rooms each with its own unique contemporary decor. Its modern bistro with …More
It's a nice and small family-owned courtyard hotel north of Beijings citycentre within the hutong area and inner Metro-circle of line 2. It's a fifteen minutes walk away from station Andigmen or Guloudajie. Trolley 107 goes along Gulou Dongdajie which can also be reached within 15 minutes walk. Drum and Bell tower with the nighlife areas Qian Hai and Hou Hai are 20 minutes walk away. The owners, except One young woman, do not speak english, but with free wifi, just use google translator and communication will work. Just the light bulb in front of my room (west wing) bothered me at night as the light was shining through the bathroom window and its glassdoor into the room. Hung a textile over the door.
