“Will be Good if it can be much closer to the subway(underground) stations !”
Hotel staffs are very friendly. Although prepaid for room, still need to pay RMB500 for deposit at check-in. No sitting area in the lobby. The Fashion room is a bit small ; the curtain hanging outside the bathroom is too close to the room entrance door and is always in the way when you close the door. A bit of dripping under the sink . The walk-in shower area is less than 1cm lower than the bathroom floor ..... making the bathroom floor a bit wet after shower. Hotel breakfast is ok , or you can try the Subway Sandwiches opposite the hotel. From the hotel is 15-20 mins walk to DengShiKou or WangFuJing or TianAnMen East subway stations.
“Highly Recommend”
Hotel Kapok is within walking distance to major tourist attractions, such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing Night Market, etc. The hotel is very clean. The room is spacious. The staffs are helpful and speak good English. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Great Time in Beijing”
Found hotel on web. regular room was very nice. everything clean and maintained. breakfast was great! and compared to US prices, it was reasonable and had everything we needed to start day off. You can walk the streets and shop local. Street food and large modern mall just a few blocks away..oh ya the Palace is right down the street! Staff was very friendly.
“Half the price and twice the smile”
I am extremely happy with the staff - they are always very pleasant and willing to help. Everytime I request something, they deliver promptly. The location is perfect if you want to experience the inner part of the city with a lot of attractions within walking distance. I had both the courtyard room and the up-graded suite and the rooms are spectacular. The restaurant down stairs serves good meals. My only complaint is that somehow I was led to believe they have wifi in the rooms and in fact they only have internet connection in the rooms and wifi on the first floor library. Compare to other hotels I have stayed in Beijing with twice the price, I would rate Kapok the best. Yes, I would stay here again and I would recommend to a friend.
“Beijing's Good Hotel and convenient priced.”
Kapok is exactly what I expect in a hotel: good location (it is a walking distance of Forbidden City and Tian’anmen Square, and just 2 blocks of Wangfujing walking street), and, of course, good price. My flight arrived too late in the night, I was very tired and the Jet Lag made feel terrible, and when I went to the hotel the staff was really nice, helpful and well English speaking. Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious and cheap (cost 70 RMB - $ 11). I got a tour to the Great Wall directly from the hotel and the travel agency was nice.
“Great location!”
This hotel is located 1 1/2 blocks east of the Forbidden City's East Gate (visitors must use the south gate). Tian'anmen Square is an easy 10-15 minute walk. We hired one of the tour guides that wander around offering their services. Harry was a wealth of information and definitely worth th money. Real China is right outside the door of the hotel, with great little restaurants (excellent Peking Duck) and shops. The night food market is on the next block east and serves up strange as well as traditional fare. The staff in the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. The buffet breakfasts were great, and the lunch and dinner menu looked interesting but we never did get to try them. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, as are the bathrooms, with a wonderful shower. We also found it to be very quiet. The only disappointment for me was that the free wi/fi was only accessible in the lobby. The rooms are hard-wired for internet access, and there is also a business center where one can purchase internet time on their computer.
“Not satisfied”
The hotel is well located and the rooms have a nice modern design but they are not functional at all especially the bathroom. Once you have taken a shower the bathroom looks like a swimming pool. The first room I was given had a window that was overlooking a building 30 feet away! The second room was ok with the exception of the bathroom. but the third day they wanted to double the rate so I left. Breakfasts were good
“Great value and location”
We spent 8 days in Beijing at Hotel Kapok. The location is great - close to restaurants, shopping and the subway. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We ate breakfast at the buffet most mornings and occasionally used room service. Both are very reasonable. I thought the laundry was expensive by chinese pricing standards, but still reasonable. I didn't like the open bathroom concept and the tatty towels. The bed was very firm, which is my preference but if you like yours soft then you will find the bed uncomfortable. I would recommend this hotel for family members and intimate friends - the open bathroom might make other travelling companions feel awkward.
“servic exceptional”
We found this hotel clean and modern with an excellent location... walk to the Forbidden City, night markets and pedestrian street. More impressive was the exceptional service!!! The night manager went above and beyond when he helped us get a refund from a neighbouring tea house that had overcharged us!!!
“Nice hotel but dont touch the coffee!”
Hotel is OK but charged me $40US for use of "free" coffee and creamer packets next to minibar. cost was not posted anywhere. Rather strange charge for normal free item.
