Hotel is a bit out of the way for a quick trip to see main sites, but the new area it is in called the Arts District is extremely interesting and eclectic with lots coffee shops and restaurants like a new Soho!

This boutique hotel is a gem located in the heart of many hutongs/alleys. So many attractions are within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is only $5 which has the best coffee I tasted in China and the food is delicious. Don't worry, it is primarily a western style buffet! For sure, I will stay with them on my next trip to Beijing.
So, we decide to splurge a little and make reservations for the last night in Beijing at Han's Royal Garden Hotel, and we were not disappointed! Right off the bat we are notified that we'd get a free upgrade to a suite (there were only two normal rooms available when we arrived, so I think they wanted to put us in a more expensive room to clear the way for any potential late night arrivals). To make it even better, the room was already booked at a 50% discount!
The hotel is built around and inside an ancient (1450s) Ming dynasty general's residence, and is absolutely stunning. It is both quiet and secluded, despite being right in the middle of the bustling night life area of Beijing. The room itself was fantastic; living room and bedroom with plenty of space, and a bathroom spacious enough to host a Mongolian horde if they ever decide to invade again.
The staff were super friendly and professional, including several westerners, making it easier to communicate if you should have any issues. The room service is affordable and the Cheesecake is absolutely to die for. Both delicious and juicy, it only sets you back $3.50 even when ordered at 1am. Fast internet comes with the room.
The only issue is that in the middle of summer it can get a little humid. There is nothing really to be done with it though, as the air conditioning was working perfectly, and made it nice and cool.
Would definitely recommend.
This hotel is along side Wangfujing Business District. It means shops, restauranats, subway stations, hutongs are very much like a walking distance. We really enjoyed the hotel mainly because of the reason and also the staffs are very kind. I will recomend this hotel to my friends if they want to go to Beijing.

Its a really nice hotel situated very close to the subway station. The staff and the management of the hotel are all extremely cooperative and nice so being a first time visitor to Beijing --- its a great experience.
I was travelling to Beijing for work and it was my first time in china so the assistance of the hotel staff proved really useful in all spheres.
for tourists to Beijing a week at this hotel gives the perfect platform to explore this great city. Its convenient for south Asian visitors as well.
the staff are very nice but if they speak better English that would be very helpful to the ordinary foreign visitor who does not know Chinese.
there are a number of 7/11 style stores open 24/7 so getting things to eat or items of daily use isn't a problem.
the BIG CHALLENGE with this property is locating the hotel within the hutong.. its almost impossible to do so in case you don't know Chinese or are unfamiliar with Beijing. Its near Andingmen station but landing at Andingmen without knowing where exactly to go isn't a good idea...
do have a phone wherein you can get someone to check in Chinese with the hotel staff on how to get there else its going to be really difficult.
