Dissappointing

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Hairdryers in good positions beside mirrors. Towels good but no flannel.
Cons: Carpets need to be steam cleaned, pillows renewed, air freshners in bathrooms. More staff to cover breakfasts (poor girl done her best)
Location: Bars near by were really bad, leisure park offered eateries but for older people it was quite a walk.
Bathroom smelt, stains on carpet, pillows so uncomfortable along with bed. No butter at breakfast I did ask and was told they have run out - not good. Breakfast tables not cleared only one assistant to cover breakfast is not good enough as it was very busy. Parking was not on site.

convienent hotel for travel

Posted 27-May-2014
the hotel itself is ideally placed for travel to other areas, being short walk to the train station and bus station. the hotel staff were polite and friendly although it did bug me when tables were full of trays and staff were just stood there during breakfast. Breakfast itself was ok...we had breakfast once during our three night stay and opted to go elsewhere for the other mornings. One of the main downfalls for this hotel is parking...there is some but not enough. The room itself was ok..there was a stain on the carpet but other than that we found it clean and tidy. We would use this hotel again as it was cheap and cheerful and served the purpose we wanted it for to use as a base for travel.

Handy hotel for visiting Stevenage town. The din

Posted 25-May-2014
Pros: Light and airy entrance area, great staff, light and airy rooms.
Cons: The dining area was quite noisy as there was no separation and the food buffet a bit congested.
Location: Right on the edge of Stevenage near the train station and an easy walk to most things.
We stayed on a Saturday night and had requested a quiet room. Out of control of staff was the fact that a group of youths returned around 2am and spent an hour making noise trailing up and down the corridor. Staff managed to get it under control but we did lose a lot of sleep. Other than that everything was excellent.

better than expected

excellent service and surprisingly nice room considering budget price. very limited car parking and the surrounding area is a bit grotty. was a bit worried leaving car in service area, but still there undamaged the next morning ! can't comment on 'free' breakfast as didn't bother to eat as a huge queue, limited food availability and nowhere to sit and eat it. found a nice café instead.
