The hotel was nice. It was clean and the room seemed to have been updated in the last few years. the continental breakfast was nice. Be sure to ask for iron and board at check in if you are going to need it. Only issue I had was the wireless internet kept going out even though I was stationary. I am an IT director and need to have access to internet at all times. The connection was so bad that I just had to use my 4G phone to VPN to the office. Outside of that, it was a very nice stay. The location is nice, near Smith Mountain Lake where I have stayed in a rental home before and could not this time because of the short notice. The price was great if you need a hotel outside Lynchburg in a pinch.
From some of the reviews I was afraid it probably wouldn't be very good. But it was very nice, I could find no fault with,it. It's not a 5 star motel, but it would be an easy 3 star in my eyes. And of course it didn't cost a 5 star price either. I would gladly stay there again, if going that way.
Friendly staff, the restaurant has good food at very reasonable prices, with a nice view of the lake to boot. There was live Irish music in the lounge the night we were there. The location can't be beat if you're looking to get away.
