I wasn't impressed but I also wasn't disgusted by any means. Price is right.

I was at this hotel couple of months ago. Returned for the Labor Day weekend. Cant't wait to go back!

“Not At All Impressed”

This Howard Johnson's is does not live up to the standards of Howard Johnson's of years gone by. Looks nice outside unless you pull around to the back of the pool (we did by accident) where you will find many mattresses standing up along side the building. My first concern was that they may have had a bed bug infestation. We still don't know why the mattresses were there because the ones in our room were not new either - they were mildew stained. Be prepared to keep your shoes on in the room because the carpets are filthy. When brushing your teeth the water stands in the sink. Taking a shower is another experience as the shower curtain has mildew stains and be prepared to shower in ankle deep water because it barely goes down the drain. The walls were dirty the microwave didn't work properly and the room had a bad smell that stayed in our clothing even after we left. We requested a couple extra sets of towels and we were told there wouldn't be any until the maid service came in the next day as they were all out. When we saw the maid and her cart she could not understand a word of English and tried to offer a dirty towel. The breakfast was a joke. There was hardly anything except old muddy coffee, two kinds of cold cereal, milk and waffles. We checked out early and moved to another property.

My son graduated from U S Marine Boot Camp @ Parris Island. I was very happy and proud to be in Beaufort to celebrate the occasion. Management at this hotel are not client friendly/oriented. Beds are very soft and towels are small and hard - take your own towels. Do not ask for towels to accommodate the number of guests you are paying for (there were 3 of us in a room with 2 double beds) - they ' make a note of it, just in case they turn up missing', and do not mind telling you! Patchwork in bathroom is ridiculously sloppy and obvious. If you can help it - stay elsewhere.

“Convenient and Comfortable”

We were in Beaufort in order to attend our sons graduation from the Marines. We needed a hotel that was close to the base for the early morning events. The hotel was wonderful, with plenty of parking space, a convenient check-in, clean hotel rooms and all the comforts. The Wi-fi was a little weak, but we still had access to the net. The only thing we weren't sure about was if the room was smoking or non-smoking. We had requested a smoking room, but there were no ashtrays, so we had to call the front desk to make sure it was a smoking room so we wouldn't have to pay a fine for smoking in a non-smoking room. However, that was easily cleared up, and not many people will have any need to worry about such a matter. What will make a difference to most is that one couldn't tell that it was a smoking room, because there was no odor of stale cigarettes left behind in the room or the furniture. Very nice hotel, and for those that like scenery, the beautiful trees out front with the spanish moss were beautiful!

i was not expecting the hotel to be as nice since all reviews were telling of the low quality of service and not being nice but at the short notice i had to get a room i didn't give myself much choice,, on boot-camp graduation weekend,but i was very pleasantly surprised, the excellence was in the service and the immaculately clean room, i could tell the rooms were a little outdated, maybe by 10 years but that was all

Upon arrival, the individual checking me in seemed a bit confused. I made an online reservation and was trying to inquire if payment had been processed. The female didn't understand my inquiry. The room I checked into was gross. The chair in the room was disgustingly dirty. The pillows on the bed were old and lumpy. There was no blanket on the bed, just the sheet and comfortor. The swimming pool was covered up and non operational. In the future I will pay 20 more dollars to stay in a better hotel.
