“home away from home...beautiful!”
we went for my sons graduations from the USMC, after his graduations we stayed one more night and it was great for him so relaxing and not a cramped hotel room.
“Perfect place to getaway”
We went to Fripp the week after Christmas and even though it was the coldest days they had all year ,we had an excellant time. We stayed in a 900 sq ft 1 bedroom Ocean front condo on the North side of the Island. While the room was just your typical beach theme it served our needs and we were very comfortable. There wasn't any beach on our side (although there was a pool), but we didnt mind driving a few minutes to one of the many beach access points. Once on the beach it was nice and clean and there were sand dollars, starfish and shells everywhere that were very beautiful. Another thing about the Island is it is covered with deer. At night we would drive off the Island and eat dinner, and coming back we would see no less than 20 deer every night. And these were BIG deer that werent afraid to be 5 feet away from you. We even saw them during the day while going to the beach. We saw dolphins in the ocean and lots of other wildlife. Loved going there and would def go back!
“Clean condo in Beach villas on Fripp”
The villa was neat and clean inside, with a nice marsh view but the outside stairs and exterior buildings are not very tidy. Nice but not extraordinary
“great condo, would go back”
condo was great. clean, lots of room, great view. staff was very helpful. enjoyed our stay. would go back.
“Loved it, wish we had known oceanfront doesn't mean beachfront”
This is an awesome place for families to stay, but I wish that I had known the place I booked was not within walking distance to the beach, though it was oceanfront. We had to drive each time we went to the beach, and no restrooms at the beach (an issue with kids). But it was amazing and we can't wait to go back but will make sure our accomodations are closer to the beach. We saw dolphins twice, fed deer from our balcony, loved the uncrowded beach. We got locked out on our patio twice, so watch it if you have small children who are trained to shut doors no matter what! Luckily we were on the first floor, so we could jump the ten feet down to the ground for help. What is the deal with the amenity cards? Seems silly to me, I guess I don't understand the purpose. Also, make sure you have a good map, my husband took a taxi from Savannah airport to meet us and the driver got lost twice - $180 fare. All in all, can't wait to go again.
“Great experience”
We really were impressed with everything about our stay at Fripp Island. Gated entrance to private community offering wonderful family oriented facilities. Our room had a beautiful ocean view and lots of room. Clay courts, golf carts for transporting around, and easy drive to Beaufort all kept us busy. We cannot wait to come back!
“Will go back”
We stayed at the "New Haven Complex" on Fripp Island. The Apartment was very nice and very clean, close to the ocean. The only thing, which was not mentioned before we booked the Apartment was, that there no possibility to swim in the ocean. (No beach) We went out for dinner twice during our stay and the service at both restaurants on the island was extremely slow. You need to be patient.
“The Prince of Tides”
This was such a fantastic property -- every morning we woke up, we felt as if we were on the movie set of The Prince of Tides. Beautiful, serene, peaceful, gorgeous ocean views. The "room" was a one bedroom, two bathroom small condo. Lots of room; nicely maintained. Just a great place.
