I booked my reservation online for 2 nights and ended up staying for almost 2 weeks in my own little paradise! This is a one-of-a-kind experience for those who want to travel to the real big island (instead of to a big corporate chain hotel that might as well be in Orlando or Anneheim as anywhere else). The entire place is filled with healing spirit and energy. The manager, staff, and pets are more than friendly, and always flexible. You can have your privacy and isolation, or you can be in constant party mode. The rooms are designed to make you feel like you are as much safe inside as outside in the Hawaiian jungle. The rooms are clean, pleasant, homey, ethereal, and very unique. The Dragonfly Ranch is a 3-minute drive from a spectacular snorkeling bay, a 10-minute drive from flat black-sand beaches, and a 20-minute drive from captain cook monument, the bay with the most renowned snorkeling in the world. One of the most magical mornings, I popped down to the nearest beach and swam among a pod of spinner dolphins.
Stayed there for three nights in September 2014. Kurt and Kana are wonderful people. The location was a tiny bit of an adventure to find but the unique area was a true experience of Hawaii. Breakfast consisted of eggs, toast with hummus and jelly, fruit, and delicious coffee farmed by the hosts. Really an amazing experience and for the affordable rate I would recommend to anyone!
We had a great experience staying at your hotel. The only complaint that I can think of was the bed gave me a backache for a few nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only other negativity I can think of is I thought the breakfast could have been a bit better and maybe a bit more selections.
I stayed in the Ali'i Tower for a little less than two and a half weeks. The view was amazing to wake up to every morning! The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Never had issues of any nature with the housekeeping staff; they cleaned well and didn't mess with any of my things. The hotel is right next to a shopping center that has plenty of restaurants and a few stores. It's also just down the street from larger shopping centers with grocery stores and such, which made it an ideal location for me to stay at for my trip considering I didn't have a car. They have coin operated laundry machines on site which was nice. They also held a few shows throughout the nights (from fire spinning to hula dancers) which i could see from my balcony, so that was pretty sweet.
