Home away from home.

Posted 24-Mar-2015
Pros: Modern. Comfortable.
Location: There are activities like parasailing, diving, snorkeling, etc. you can book within the resort by the beach. Anything that uses gas not free.
A place to repeat. Staff makes this place awesome! Can't complain about the resort amenities and food as well. As they say "Welcome Home" and "Excellente!" Time of our visit though this March had a lot of algae/seaweeds but they do try their best clean it up. We just walk to the next resort (Eco Park which had lesser algae and shallower and gentler waves. Entertainment is worth to see. Smaller resort but I like it that way, easier to go around and lesser people even on a March break. We got bumped to preferred club which made our stay even better. Not much difference though. Crowd was very good for a family. Distance to the airport helps as well when you arrive, takes 15mins. and when you depart you get to stay longer. Will definitely repeat.

Beachfront all inclusive

Posted 24-Mar-2015
Just returned from Dreams, spring break trip with my son who was home from college. Very nice hotel, right on the beach. Agree with comments I read before I went about seaweed, but the beach was beautiful with soft white sand and I swam in the pool. Food was better than a lot of all inclusive spots. But be warned. .. men must have long pants, collared shirts and close toed shoes to eat in almost all of the restaurants at night. No problem if you know in advance, but we did not and my 19 year old son did not pack long pants. We bought an expensive pair of white linen pants in one of the resort shops which really didn't fit but were the only option, and I had to hem them up. He tried to get in wearing J. Crew shorts that were dressy but was turned away. Females can wear shorts or whatever they want. Only other complaint was the over 2 hour time to get thru lines at the airport on the way out. Thought we had plenty of time leaving resort at noon for a 2:40 flight, as recommended by the transport service, but almost missed our flight. I'm sure the spring break crowds may have been part of the issue but give yourself plenty of time. In spite of those issues, the trip was awesome. Beautiful weather, friendly staff, plentiful drinks, small casino with $5 blackjack. .. my son could play since he just had to be over 18, so I taught him the basics. Drinking age is also 18, the bar tenders do check i.d. if you look young. No loud or crazy stupid drunks while we were there though.

Hotel was a great size.

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Location: Many of the water activities for the beach are run from this resort which gave us priority which was really nice.
Overall our trip was great. The hotel was a really great size. It had all of the amenities. I've been to other resorts where the distances between the rooms and pool, beach and restaurants was quite large. At Dreams popping back to your room to pick something up was a nice quick walk.

Very nice resort with exeptional sevice

Posted 27-Feb-2015
Pros: Everything!!!!!!
Cons: Choice of music around the pool and being Canadian, have Bloody Ceasars available at the bar.
Location: The resort had enough to offer that we stayed on site.
This hotel was more than expected. The staff makes you feel at home and is very determine to make your stay, a great one! Starting with Kätlin who works the front office that went out of her way by calling the room to make sure all was good in the room. It does not stop there, the restaurant staff, like Belkis who works at the buffet in the morning and at the Japanese restaurant in the evening and Angel that we were lucky enough to have as a waiter in more than one restaurant (buffet, Seaside and Mexican) always being very professional and dedicated to their jobs. We will go back to Dreams Palms Resort and recommend it to everyone looking for quality and service at a reasonable price!

Beach and the pools made the trip

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: the staff, always professional and helpful
Cons: the rooms and the people on the beach selling items became a nuisance
Location: plenty of water activities
The beach, pools, food and the staff were excellant. I was disappointed in the room and think they are ready to be redone

Terrific Deal

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Cons: Beware of the 30 minute time share pitch 5 minutes after you arrive. Honestly... it's the last thing we are opening to after travelling.
My boyfriend and I just returned from a terrific 5-day staff. The resort was beautiful and well-maintained! Food was incredible for an all inclusive (our favorite was the French restaurant... try the surf and turf!) The staff was super attentive and friendly. Some tips: 1) I'd say this is more of a family resort. Singles would probably be bored. As an unmarried couple 30-something couple, I'd say we were in the minority. We enjoyed having some kids around to liven things up, but this isn't a place for people who hate kids. 2) There's no reason to take out of lot of pesos. Everyone seems to prefer tips in USD. The gift shop had barely any pesos. All the prices were in USD and they had to give me change in USD because they had so few pesos.

Good all inclusive with the kids.

Posted 20-Feb-2015
Fun with the kids but my 6 and 8 year old we're not interested in the kids club activities. Overall a good experience. The beach is nice and they do clean up the seaweed. It really is not bothersome.

Overall we enjoyed our time together but were pretty disappointed when we saw our "luxury accommodations". I wish we knew that this was one of the oldest Dream properties. The entertainment staff were great and worked extremely hard to ensure guests enjoyed their time. I would just suggest more diversity in the music/ activities so ALL ages and ethnicities are comfortable. Besides the Spa (which was very nice except the steam room didn't work but we enjoyed our massages) all the facilities need to be updated. Our shower wouldn't drain the entire time even though we were told it was fixed ,made taking a shower gross for the 2nd person (which was always me!). Thank goodness we could shower at the spa.The food was edible but not much effort went into preparation so it made for bland taste. The late night menu in a word..TERRIBLE! ! If it weren't for the entertainment team I would rate this resort 1 star. Didn't feel comfortable at this resort.
