Filthy!!!!

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The smell!
Location: Location was great, which is why I selected it. Plenty of food places and a new shopping center is the next exit up.
This hotel is absolutely disgusting. When I booked the hotel, I requested a non-smoking room. What I was given was anything but. The room reeked of smoke and the smoke alarm was dismantled. We got in so late, I didn't have the energy to fight with my daughter about getting another room. When we left and arrived at our final destination, I had to wash every single piece of clothing we brought because of the smell. If you're okay with smelling like an ashtray, this is the perfect hotel for you.

The staff was nice. The building was under some renovations so there were construction materials in the hallway which isn't very safe. We had a non smoking room but when we walked in, it smelled a little like smoke, but not too bad. Other than that it was fine

The hotel was being renovated, so there were things that were expected such as tape where they were painting and stuff like that. But... Our room had an awful odor to it, the lamp shades were rusted (I'm guessing), and the toilet and shower needed some extra attention.

Bad choice

Best thing about the whole place was the young lady who checked us in. She was so cheerful and helpful. Went downhill from there. It looks like the Orel is undergoing some renovations, which is a good thing, however the bad news is that I think we were in 1 of the renovated rooms. The door had about a 1 inch gap in it and you couldn't even think about the deadbolt doing any good. We ended up scooting the table in front of the door so that we could feel even halfway safe. The bedspreads and pillows are long overdue for replacement. While the shower stall was granite, the shower head was totally loose in the wall- seemed like they didn't caulk around it so it moves all around. We would NOT stay here again.

I think the hotel should have been closed for the repairs that were going on. Half of the hotel was being reconstructed. The other half should not have been open. Our floors were uneven and unlevel in our room. The walkways outside were not clean and leaning. I know the owners are working on it now, but the overall condition of the hotel was not good. However, the people at the desk were very friendly. We would not park our car near the hotel because it did not look safe. I did not feel safe at this hotel.

stay was nice. the only hiccup was we got our wakeup call at 1:00am instead of 6:30am as requested. other than that, was good.
