“Nice hotel but try and get a room at the back”

Great location in terms of where the hotel is in Bath. There is a bar downstairs and a nightclub round the corner so unless you get a room at the rear of the hotel expect to hear noise into the early hours. Nice clean room. Comfy bed. Good continental breakfast. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

“Beautiful city - pity the hotel room was so small”

Bath is one of the UK's most beautiful cities - it has sometimes been called the "Florence of England!". All hotel accommodation in this city is going to command a premium therefore. This hotel has the perfect location, is a lovely traditional Bath stone Georgian townhouse-style building. We went for the cheapest accommodation accommodation in the hotel - the double room with shared facilities. The room was small - okay for a night or two, but I wouldn't recommend the cheap rooms for a longer stay than that as they are SMALL! The bed was an average quality double bed - not the cheapest, but certainly not top of the range either. There were two different receptionists on duty over the course of the weekend, and both were friendly and competent. The breakfast was okay - there was a small variety of everything - served in a lovely, fairly spacious, wood-panelled dining room. My only complaint about the breakfast was that the coffee though was weak and of a poor quality. Overall a reasonable experience in this average hotel in this beautiful, but expensive city.

“Too noisy”

Great central location, but we were woken up at 1:30am both nights as people left the night club on the corner. Breakfast was good, except for the UHT milk. Room and beds were comfortable, but our extractor fan didn't work and we had to sign for a hairdryer borrowed from reception. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Area recommendations
Really enjoyed the Roman baths, with commentary from Alice Roberts and Bill Bryson and the open top bus tour. Had a great meal at One Fish Two Fish very close to the hotel. We travelled to Bath by train and picked up several 2 for 1 offers from First Great Western which we were able to use whilst there.

Decor a little faded, but room was large, clean, warm and had everything we needed. Friendly staff, great breakfast, and fab location.

“Bath Spa, great wee hotel”

Location of the hotel was great. Within walking distance of the train station and central city sights. Staff were polite and the breakfast selection was fantastic.

“Next time in Bath I would stay here”

We were pleasantly surprised once we got there to see that the hotel is actually 3 stars (AA rating) although on Expedia site it says 1.5 stars. I would definitely recommend The Parade Park for a short stay in Bath. Excellent location, friendly staff and a nice, bright and clean little room. Buffet breakfast was very decent with standard array of options from cereals and milk to ham and eggs, and couple of juices. We came earlier than the check in time and they offered to take care of our luggage on the reception while we went for a stroll around Bath. Same happened when we checked out, our train was late in the afternoon, and they kept our luggage for us while we were in the spa.

Area recommendations
Apart from walking around city centre you should definitely visit The Roman Baths Museum and the Thermae Spa. Enjoy nice views from the Alexandra Park and if you like crazy golf there is a nice ground on the Royal Avenue just underneath the Royal Crescent.
Dining
We weren't really impressed with the restaurants in the Bath. They are usually very pricey for what they are.

“Fantastic location”

Just got back from spending Valentines weekend here, the reception staff were amazing, sooooooo helpful, honest & friendly, they advised we were in a superior room that was located at the front of the hotel above the bar and so could be noisy on weekends, they offered us the option of a smaller double at the back of the hotel if we were concerned with noise, to which we declined and then proceeded to provide us with lots of information regarding the surrounding area, site to see, restaurants and bars. Our room was huge (2 beds infact!) and clean but basic, howveer it suited our needs perfectly as the location couldn't get any better. we had amazing views of the abbey, we not disturbed by the street noise at all and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Lambretta Bar located below is actually lots of fun, after our evening meal (we ate at Yak Yeti Yak, which has to be one of the best meals I've had in a long time) we popped in here for a night cap and thoroughly enjoyed the music and people watching. Rooms are basic but clean, this is a good option if you don't want to spend £200 + on a room and the location couldn't be better. The hotel staff make it a joy and will happily change your room where possible if you are unhappy.

“Good value and Comfortable”

Large room with superb view overlooking River Avon, park and Bath Abbey. Two shakes of a lamb's tail from Bath Spa railway station & central to everything. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows, lovely shower. Original wooden shutters on windows. Some night time reveller and traffic noise but this is the city centre after all (just take ear plugs). Continental buffet breakfast was plentiful and nice. Ask at reception for a hairdryer; note that you can't get evening meals at the hotel but there are eateries everywhere in Bath. Very personable, helpful staff. Suited us perfectly for a short break and was reasonably priced.

Area recommendations
City centre is beautiful at this time of year with the Christmas market and lights. Shops are fantastic as there are many independents.
Traveller's tip
Sally Lunn's early evening fixed price 2 course meal inc glass of wine. We didn't want the starter so they just charged us for children's portions! Meal was delicious and it's a lovely setting. Jane Austen centre does fab hot snacks (eg toasted brie & cranberry sandwiches with salad leaves) at lunchtime. Shabby chic style cafe opposite Bath Spa railway stn (can't remember name) served wonderful home made veg soup.

“Location, location, location!”

The hotel was in a fantastic location right in the centre of Bath. Rooms basic but you only sleep and shower in them don't you? surprisingly no noise disturbance from the bar. !
