"Better than expected"
This hotel had a few negative reviews, mainly for it's older condition, however, we found it very comfortable and pleasant.

"Nice bed and breakfast in a beautiful village."
Owner was very welcoming and accommodating as we were late arriving because of traffic on the M25. Plaine House was very quaint and clean. Breakfast was very good. Only compliant is the non existent shampoo and shower gel. We didn't pack any as these are normally provided. Village was very beautiful. In all a very nice stay.

I would recommend this hotel, the staff from reception was lovely and helpful, but unfortunately the staff from the restaurant were inexperience and without proper manners.

"Great space in Bath"
I had the opportunity to spend a week In Bath- a place I have never visited. I quickly realized that Bath offers history, city walks, country walks, quirky & upmarket stores, cafes and restaurants, movies etc - all the things I relish during a vacation, but I also needed a quiet space to work. Hence I sought a centrally located apartment since I did not have a car. I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment in the Halcyon Apartments on the top floor, which offered -after climbing many many stairs - superb views over city roofs and stately gardens. It was pristinely clean, really comfortable, and pleasingly decorated with live plants and artwork. Since I like to cook (hate eating out all of the time) I was delighted to find that the kitchen was well-equipped and nearby markets offered fresh vegetables and fruit etc. The apartment and superb restaurant associated with it (Clayton's KItchen) made this an outstanding place to stay and explore Bath & Cotswold Way on foot

"Good location for exploring Bath."
A hotel of great character and history. There isn't a straight line in this hotel but that is what creates it's undeniable charm. Our room sloped by about 5 inches and it was "downhill" al the way to the bathroom! It was very much like traveling back in time the days of the English Civil War. Staff were cordial, food was very good. The room was pleasant and the bed very comfortable but, despite this, I was unable to get a good nights sleep while there. I think this was more to do with past visitors and events rather than anything of the modern day.
