Place to break your journey

Pros: Useful location to break our journey.
Cons: Reduced focus on the wine list and more on tactful assistance for guests.
Found the reception and restaurant staff overly enthused, especially about the wine choices, when we arrived. We did decide to dine in the restaurant for the evening meal. This was very good but, there seemed a slight disinterest once we declined to order a bottle of wine. After diner our room seemed to have thin walls (or exceptionally noisy guests each side) which made sleeping a challenge.

Hotel in need of something!

Pros: Very little.
Cons: Updating.
Location: Sadly a bit out of the town of Bateman's Bay which looked promising when we went in for breakfast after checking out of the hotel.
Located across the river from Bateman's Bay on the main highway with no footpath for part of the way into town. The hotel reception was unsure about our booking which they took several minutes sort out. A fair description of the hotel would be "tired".

Hotel is basic but staff are very helpful and friendly. Accommodation a bit dated and could be upgraded. Was fine for an overnight or short stay.

I found spider webs all over the place and the glasses have been only cleaned with your old bath towels, you could still see the fabric. The rest was ok but not worth the money will not return

Dont go on a Sunday

Pros: It was clean
Cons: showers instead of shower over bath, alright if you are young but difficult for the older person.
Location: Batemans Bay has plenty of eating places, you can cruise the river overall very pleasant
Found the man (owner?) to be less than friendly. When I asked him about the restaurant he said "we are not open, nobody opens on a Sunday" would have been nice to know when making the booking. when asked about a courtesy bus to local club he told us the food was not as good as the Motel so I pointed out to him he wasnt ofering me any food. Charged extra for refurbed room when the blurp I read said all rooms had been refurbished. Told us we could walk to Seafood restaurant but didnt say how dangerous it was as we had to walk part way on an unlit highway. We stayed at this Motel some 20 years ago and had a very nice stay but we will not be going back.
