We stayed at this hotel for four nights in July. The location was really good when we got to know our way around - 10 minutes walk to the Bastille area, 15 minutes walk to the Seine, close to a metro station and with some nice bars and restaurants in the local streets. The hotel itself was nice, with a quiet central garden area. Our room had a few minor issues - no bedside table on one side, and one of the plug sockets was hanging off, but other than that was comfortable and quiet with free, fast Wi-Fi. The staff were very professional and helpful. We enjoyed the Marais district and would recommend this hotel.
My first trip to Paris and I couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel or its location. I chose the BLC based on the previous good feedback, which was spot on. I will be back and recommending this hotel to friends and family. Clean, comfortable and bright room; great location filled with cafés, bars and next to a metro station; great value.
"Good hotel, clean, small room, very close to Metro"
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms small but this is expected in Paris. The location is outstanding, 2 minutes walk from the République Metro station. They offer free internet and there is an exercise room, it's small but has enough machines to be workable. It's an excellent value.

"GREAT value for the money with excellent location"
I was travelling by myself for a long weekend and stayed by myself in a single room. The location is great by Metro. The staff was extremely helpful in directions and where to go. English was great. I felt like I was at home in their hotel. My single room on the sixth floor was great, but small and sparse. I've not taken a bath two days in a row since I was a kid but for sleeping and changing, it was I needed. If you are less concerned about the US type hotel comforts and just want a great location with great staff ... this is a wonderful value and I'd go back.

The lady that checked us in was quite impolite. Because our room wasn't ready yet, we asked if we could use the toilet and was met with a rude and condescending tone "I already told you that the toilet is on the left" even though it was the first time we even asked or requested for anything. Was quite shocked at her tone but we didn't let it bother us so much.
Because the luggage room was completely full, we had to leave our luggage at a corner of the lobby. But when we came back in the evening, our stuff were moved into the luggage room and seemed to be thrown on the floor. They just threw our backpacks on top of each other in a haphazard manner. My boyfriend was quite upset about this because we had our laptops inside.
The air con in the room did NOT work. The fan was very dusty so we didn't use it. Toilet was small but the shower was fine.
The location of the hotel was good though. Close to the metro and easy to find.

This is a very nice hotel. It was very clean and well-maintained. The only minor drawbacks were the tiny elevator (it took us three trips to get our luggage upstairs) and the rooms were rather tiny. In spite of the lack of space, the beds were comfortable, the room looked nice and the bathroom was one of the nicest on our trip.
The staff was the best part of our stay. The ladies at the front desk were great. They were exceptionally helpful, from getting us directions to places in another part of the city to arranging a ride to the airport and following up when the driver was late.
I would certainly recommend staying here!
Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
