1. Really unique experience in the midst of a historical complex. The place was easy to find (taxi drivers didnt know the place but know the bastakiya complex) and within a short distance to the metro. Walking to distance to museum, old soux and to take abra ride.
2. The staffs are great.
3. Breakfast is plenty and customized (make the order the night before).
4. Room was nice. I was concerned that the guest house given its style would compromise in its comfort. Turned out the bed is decent for sleeping (not marriot soft but good for sleeping), bath is good with plenty toilettries. No problemo.
I truly enjoyed my time at Ahmedia Guest House. I was there for about six nights in early November and I was so impressed with the beauty of the place and the graciousness of the staff. It is an old building that has been carefully restored. The wood doors, ceilings and furniture are lovely. The place is much prettier, even, then one can see in the photos. Must see it in person. They staff were so nice and very quick to assist me with any request. I highly recommend this place. The location is also terrific. The metro stop (Al Ras) is just about a block away (much closer then many hotels to metro stops in other parts of Dubai). The neighborhood in Deira is really great - feels very safe and lively. Not nearly as touristy as other parts of the city. Feels like a family neighborhood. I will definitely stay at Ahmedia Guest House next time I travel to the UAE. Can't wait!
It was really nice staying at the Oasis court hotel Apartment,from checking in till I checked out.. Was there for 6 nights and would recommend it to everyone. Would like to thank Kanika at the reception,Roshan in the restaurant who always made sure my daughter and I got anything we wanted and Shohag.. Damber the doorman was a star.. I cannot fault anyone really. My top appreciation goes out to Abdiel Moniem Mohd Sanosi who made sure we never wanted for anything, treated us like family!!
Choose room overlooking creek. Great views watching loading of Dhows and boats going up and down creek day and night. Surprisingly quiet given hotel on main road. Facilities excellent given hotel quite old compared to others. Easy walk to souks and cross creek terminal. Excellent location.
I have lost count of how many times I have stayed at this hotel. On average, it's about three times per year since 1999. Standards have remained consistently high, staff response exceeds merely "accommodating." Arrived from Kuwait at approximately 6:45pm, was checked in and in the room before 7pm. Asst Manager Victoria, a longtime exemplary employee, seemed to be waiting for our arrival and greeted us enthusiastically. Request at desk of Mr. Jimsun (forgive inaccurate spelling if so) for ice to be delivered to the room ASAP was instantly fulfilled free of charge by a friendly young woman. Noticed instantly that there was a leak in the bathroom, called the front desk and within 5 minutes, Mr. Jimsun had a maintenance technician in the room replacing a hose and faucet. The job was finished by 7:15pm. Staff in the bar, some familiar, some new, as always were attentive and seemed genuinely pleased to see us. 2am room service order and delivery was completed within 15 minutes (and there is a goulash on the menu now that is superb--so much so that we ordered it again the following night). Requested an AC adjustment the following day; this was carried out in our absence. Later in the evening, the problem seemed still unresolved, and Duty Manager Mr. Rahul himself came to the room with the technician to oversee the repair. The job done, Mr. Rahul offered to change our room if we continued to be uncomfortable. This proved unnecessary. Checkout was completed in 5 minutes.
