"excellent"
staff very helpful. Hotel very clean and tidy with a lake opposite my room- woow. Room very chic. Only one issue. I got on the main road at about 10.15ish but took me 30min to find where the hotel was. It might be worth putting better signs or change the format of the address.

"Cheap & cheerful just not at the bar!!"
We were just visiting friends and family so we just needed a room for a few nights over the Christmas & New Year. The rooms are nothing fancy but are excellent if you just need a bed to sleep in. Bathroom was clean and had all you need with towels being changed every day along with the bed being made and a quick tidy and a vacuum of the room. The hotel bar is expensive for drinks, so if you take your own, and if you like more than 1 cup of tea in the morning then you will need to ask for more!!! Overall Clean.Friendly. Adequate.

    Pocket Guide: Essex Basildon Hotels

Designated a suburban new town after World War II, Basildon was created to overcome London overcrowding. Chiefly residential, there are regular trains to London and the motorway also passes through town. The town centre is full of sops and coffee houses. Two main shopping centres — Eastgate and Westgate shopping centres — have more than 100 shops each.
