“Excellent hotel.”

THE HOTEL WAS SUPERB IN ALL RESPECTS FROM THE MOMENT WE CHECKED IN TO THE TIME WE LEFT IT, 3 DAYS LATER. IT IS CENTRALLY AND WELL LOCATED FOR WALKING, OR, TRAM SERVICE. A NUMBER OF THESE STOP RIGHT BY THE HOTEL ENTRANCE. THE HOTEL ISSUES YOU FREE TRANSPORTATION PASSES FOR THE DURATION OF ONE'S STAY AND THESE ARE GOOD ON ALL TRAMS AND BUSES. THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS GOOD AS ONE CAN ONLY ACCESS THE FLOORS VIA THE ELEVATOR IF ONE HAS THE ROOM KEY TO ACTIVATE THE ELEVATORS. ATM MACHINES ARE RIGHT WITHIN THE HOTEL BLOCK, ABOUT 100 YARDS FROM ITS ENTRANCE.

“Great hotel - would definately stay there again.”

The experience staying at the Swissôtel was excellent. The people were very friendly. The food and bar area was great. The recently renovated steamroom, sauna and exercise area was fantastic!!! The hotel exceeded all expectations.

“First class hotel”

Obviouly recently refurbished to a high standard the hotel offers very good sized rooms and bathrooms with slightly minimalist fittings and decor. A ten minute walk or three minutes tram ride from the centre of town.

“Nice place, friendly staff”

Hotel very close to the fair, walking distance to Badischer Bahnhof; room not huge but okay; staff was friendly - for a slow season they could have included breakfast in the not-so-low prize. However, all in all okay.

“very comfortable for overnight stay”

nice location. directly across from the city tram. we were most impressed with the staff. they were able and very willing to answer all of our questions and help us in getting around. our room had an undesirable view of a poorly to not at all maintained courtyard. the room was very comfortable with nice linens. much to our liking, it was also very quiet.

“Fall from grace”

Swissotel was a premier hotel back in the 1990s. Many saw this as a mmodern cutting edge Swiss hotel. All mod cons and very chic. That was then and now it is a shameful example of how a hotel can turn tawdry in a matter of years. Raffles Group bought the hotel in the early 2000s and since then it has gone down hill. The room was disgusting. Newly refurbished with cheap faux art deco furniture which clashed with the rest of the room. The carpet! Well let me say that I have stayed in motels with cleaner carpets! Never again will I book into the Swissotel. I will be writing to Raffles Hotels directly.

“Hôtel très bien située à Bâle”

Le personnel de cet hôtel est exceptionnellement attentif et aimable. L'hôtel est très bien située et permet l'accès à la majorité des lignes de Tramway. Par ailleurs, à notre arrivée, l'hôtel nous a donné une carte de transport permettant l'accès gratuit au système de transport de la ville. Seul bémol, au cours de notre séjour, des travaux majeurs avaient lieu en face de l'hôtel, au centre des Congrès, et il y avait beaucoup de bruit de construction. Malgré cela, je recommanderais cet hôtel.
