“I just keep going back!”

What a wonderful hotel. i've stayed here a few times now over the last 5 years and I always look foward to going back. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious with good facilities including TV, mini-bar, sofa, coffee achine, and really comfortable beds, as well as a good breakfast buffet. Just one little tip.....try to avoid a room at the front (overlooking the tram that rumbles past). At the back it's relatively quiet.

“Great value and location”

Having been to Basel many times, but always staying with friends this was the first time I had to book a hotel. Knowing where it was helped, as Spalentor is walkable to the centre and the number 3 tram runs right past the hotel. So location is pretty good. The staff were great, the room was only a 'comfort', but I've stayed in worse 5 star rooms! Breakfast was good too. The only downside I'd say is that when booking the hotel, the booking website said it had a gym - there were 4 pieces of equipment, so couldn't really describe it as a gym! That aside, I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Basel, whether it's a family trip or a cosy couples weekend!

“Great for a business trip”

An excellent, well located, no nonsense hotel with very comfortable rooms. I stayed for 2 nights for a business trip and was very happy with the facilities.

“Would definately recommend”

Staff were both friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean and well presented. Roads were slightly noisey at night but this is a central location and has to be expected. Overall, I would definately recommend and won't think twice about returning in the future.

“Excellent hotel!”

The hotel was in a great location, near the old town. The breakfasts were included and there was a wide variety of choices. Every request we made was cheerfully accommodated. It couldn't have been better.

“Fabulous”

The Hotel was convenient to old town area, trams and buses and easy to find as opposite the Old Spalentor City Gate. Rooms were spacious and showers were fantastic and even bathrobes laid on for you. Everything you'd need and more from a well priced hotel.

“Great place to stay in Basel”

This hotel is a great place to stay in Basel. It's in easy walking distance to the city center. Trams to the city (#3) and busses to the main train station (#30) stop in front of the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be noise: While I requested a quiet room, I got a room with a connection door.

“Good location, quiet , low-key.”

Well kept ,smaller hotel off the main street, but in walking distance of main shopping centre, botanical gardens, university and tram transport passes by. Breakfast is most adequate but not elaborate

“Excellent experience at Hotel Spalentor in Basle”

Thanks to the Hotel Spalentor for an excellent, if short, stay. The hotel is very clean, efficient, and conveniently located (close to city centre, business districts and public transport links). Very warm welcome from friendly & helpful staff.

“Very impressed with Spalentor hotel”

The hotel is in the process of being refurbished but it was so clean and everything looked fresh as it was. The hotel was close to the old town and there were excellent transport links to the airport, station and other parts of the town. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful . I had e mailed them with some questins prior to leaving the UK and they replied immediately. The rooms were spacious and very clean . There was an excellent buffet breakfast in the dining room on the 5th floor. Free access to the internet enabled me to book in the day before for my return flight home and to print my boarding pass which saved me time at the airport. The bar was rather small but very pleasant.
