“This hotel is central but difficult to find in a car”

Central location. Rooms are quite dated but clean. Staff are friendly

“One of THE BEST IN STRASBOURG”

Very central hotel with tram stop nearby. This hotel has friendly staff and excellent service including a good breakfast selection. As a regular visitor to Strasbourg it is my first choice.

Area recommendations
I recommend the boat trip round the City which is available close to the Cathedral. The architecture of this city is splendid.

“Maison Rouge”

great location for a few days. Not a good choice if temperatures are hotter. It was cool at night when we were there so it was fine with windows open. No A/C but not a big deal if weather is nice.

“Location great.”

Location great. Near a tram stop but easy walking from hotel for sightseeing. Found hotel clean and friendly, helpful staff at the reception desk.

Area recommendations
The river area below the cathedral as it is a very pretty area with the flowers in planter boxes across the bridges.
Dining
Plenty of outdoor dinning areas and atmosphere around these areas great. Food was excellent and there was a vast variety to choose from. Could fine things to suit both pocket and taste.

“This Hotel Needs Improvement”

No air-conditioning, can get hot when it gets warm outside especially on the top floor. No one would tell you that the hotel has parking unless you specifically ask. Can get noisy in front of hotel at night, as some hooligans party and the hotel staff doesn't even call police claiming that police wont do anything anyway.

“Everything I hoped for!”

I had read about the noisy rooms before we went on our trip and I have to say they were right - if you have a room overlooking the street, and you open the windows, it will be noisy. But this is the trade off for being right in heart of Strasbourg. The location was outstanding - within easy walking distance of *everything* - and the hotel staff unflaggingly helpful and patient. I would definitely return to the Maison Rouge and to Strasbourg.

Area recommendations
Strasbourg is a small city, and many of the attractions/museums are located in the area around the Cathedral and the Petite France area. Don't neglect the other side of the city though, around the Place de la Republic and the park, where you will get to see the real life inspiration for all the stuffed storks you'll see sold in every souvenir shop.
Getting around
While you're in Strasbourg, make sure you take the boat ride and go to the Museum of Alsace (if you have time for only one museum). If you have more time in the area, rent a car for a few days and drive along the Route du Vins - even if you're not a wine enthusiast the towns are picture-perfect lovely, half-timbered houses, canals, and gorgeous views of the Vosages mountains and vinyards as you drive. Colmar, Riquewihr and Haute Konigsberg to the south of Strasbourg and Soufflenheim, Betschdorf (for pottery) to the north are best bets, but you almost can't go wrong if you decide to just wander.

“Just right”

The location was very convenient. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room was beautiful, the best we had on our trip. The hotel was on a busy street, but our room was very quiet.

“Average but good location”

Overall satisfied with the hotel and service, altought room was quite small for the price I paid. Such a shame there is no kettle in the room or coffee/tea facilities in the corridor and no free internet connections. Disappointed there was no vegetarian option on the menu.

“Great location, great staff”

Only a block from Place Kleber and a short walk to all the sites of Strasbourg, we would definitely return to this hotel. The staff is friendly and multilingual, and went out of its away to alert the guests to a street fair which would affect traffic patterns--they saved us from our car being trapped in one of the nearby garages and missing our flight. The lobby is comfortable and each floor has a small lounging area with a different decor including ceiling murals.

Area recommendations
Anywhere near the Cathedral or Palce Kleber is great and close enough to walk to the best parts of Strasbourg.
