Nothing but praise for this hotel. Reception staff generally helpful and knowledgeable (let down only by one girl who didn't have much local knowledge but was otherwise fine). Common areas very stylish and the terrace area and bar quite simply amazing - we wasted many an early evening relaxing on the rooftop with cocktails, and only wished the weather had been slightly better (and Barcelona less inviting) to be able spend a whole day up there! Slightly pricey drinks wise but the views (and olives/nuts which comes with them) make it worth while.
If you are bothered by noise it is worth paying for an interior/courtyard room to avoid being on La Rambla - ours was very quiet and the blackout curtains were very effective - have not slept for 10 hours straight for a long time!
Did not eat in hotel and breakfast is very expensive given how many lovely coffee shops there are in within a few minutes walk of the hotel and into the old town. Also a shame that the spa treatments were so expensive compared to usual UK prices.
Hotel is in a really good, central location so we mostly walked everywhere, only using the metro to get to Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. A great choice for a few quality days in a great city.
This hotel has the best location. It is right on the boardwalk. It's feet from restaurants, bars, and the beach. The train track is conveniently located right in front of the hotel, but you never hear it. It's a very quite hotel, but outside is lively. I could not have booked a better hotel. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was perfect.
Just had to come and see these fantastic windows for myself. This is a totally unique hotel with a vertical garden all the way up to the top floor. Our room was minimalist style, all white with a large mirrored wall separating the bathroom. Everything was spotless and it was very quiet, didn't hear anything at all from next door room. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the main part of town but this is easily reached by the Metro which is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful. The best part for me was the window in the room - I have stayed in hotels around the world and was blown away by the design. Would definitely stay in this hotel again next time we come to Barcelona - we had a great time and will be back.

Framed in one of Catalonia's busiest trade fair areas, the Hotel Catalonia Fira surprises us all with its originality and …More
Even though we arrived at midnight the reception staff were cordial and helpful.
We loved the modern decor of the hotel and rooms, which were clean and comfortable.
Breakfast, although not included in the price was very good.
After checking-out, access Barcelona's main railway station was via a lift in the hotel.
Apart Hotel Atenea, Barcelona is few hundred meters from metro station Les Corts. It is so easy to walk to Les Corts Ingles, a huge shopping center, take the metro to Park Guell, Casa Batlo, the beach or any boutique around la Bocateria or along the Rambla. If you wish take the train from Sants Statio to visits some beautiful small town along the Mediterannean coast! All nice and easy!
Easy hotel to get to from the Airport get on the bus to Catalunya Square and you are a 5 minute walk to the hotel if that also central for the metro and the Barcelona Tour Bus. A great pub is right next door to the Hotel Obama Bar and you are next to all the designer shops. Hotel is beautiful inside the reception area, bedroom was on the front of the hotel which was good not that you have much of a view as you are in the city but you could see the fountain that lights up on a night time and changes colours. There was no traffic noise as the windows are double and the room was very clean with air conditioning. We had a lovely time and would go back and stay at this hotel again could not fault it.
Arrived on a Friday afternoon and the room (Deluxe with Balcony) was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful and the location is lovely, next to a manor house and golf course away from the bustle of the city. The staff are friendly and we were very pleased. We also ate in the restaurant which was fantastic. However, there was a wedding reception in the Manor House and most of the guests were staying in the hotel. The music went on until 4 am which we could hear clearly, then the wedding guest returned very noisily to their rooms at around 5 am. No sleep for us and complaint to the hotel. Saturday saw new guests arriving for another wedding reception. No sleep again Saturday night and a call to reception at 5 am to complain about one room making so much noise it even woke our 6 year old daughter. It was such a shame given how good the hotel and staff are. I couldn't get over how inconsiderate people can be.....
