“Not four star service”
The bedroom was disappointingly small, with such little space around the bed that it was awkward for two people to move around comfortably. But it was the service from the reception desk that was particularly poor. When asked for a suggestion for a good place to go for breakfast the response was "I don't know. It's not a question I've ever been asked before". Another receptionist could barely be bothered to look up and say hello/goodbye as we came and went during the day. And the final nail in the coffin was the total lack of an iron and ironing board in the hotel. In my opinion, it was just not good enough to justify a four star label.
“Affordable convenience in Central Barcelona.”
This hotel is in a great location near Plaza Espanya but more residential in feeling. The rooms are adequate size by European standards with good finishes.
“Modern and Relaxing”
Once my cruise was over, I decided to spend a few days in Barcelona. I made reservations at Hotel Vincci Arena using Expedia. The hotel I wanted to stay at was bookked up. My Expedia phone rep. did some research for me and found this hotel. Upon arrival, I loved the way the hotel looked from the outside. Modern boutique style hotel. I was greeted wamly at the desk and immeadiately was checked in and shown where my room was. The hotel lobby is beautiful. I stepped out the elevator and loved the look of the look of the hallways. Dark but lit with green lights that had the room numbers on it. I opened my door and was taken aback at the beauty of the room. Modern, dark woods, rich burgundy colors. A nice size bathroom with a deep tub. Had a very relaxing feel considering the modern elegance of the room. I felt extremely comfortable, relaxed and glamorous with my surroundings. The hotel is on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. The front desk was very helpful with tips on how to get around in Barcelona ,good restaurant suggestions. All in all, a great experience.
“Very dark hotel”
We found the hotel very dark, the food was expensive for what we got, but had very modern features.
“Nice modern hotel”
Nice modern hotel within walking distance to the Plaza espana where there is a subway station and a stop for the airport shuttle. Very nice sized rooms with king size beds and nice modern bathrooms. It was one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in in europe. The sorrounding neighborhood left a little to be desired, There are not a ton of sorrounding resturants at night and it is about a 10-15 min subway ride to the main area, but it wasn't a horrible study. Internet is a bit pricey at about 17 euros for 24 hours. Overall a nice hotel
“Modern, friendly and stylish hotel”
We were delighted with our stay in the Vincci Arena. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was lovely with floor to ceiling windows and a view over the street, and it was immaculately clean. I particularly liked the bathroom which was very funky and had nice free products and the bed was huge and really comfy! The location was really handy for both Tarragona and Plaza Espana metro stations and I would highly recommend walking down to Plaza Espana and going to see the 'magic fountains' and Palau Nacional at night, it is stunning and only a few minutes from the hotel. It is also really quick and easy on the metro to Plaza Catalunya and other parts of the city too. The only slight downside was that there isn't much choice of restaurants nearby, but as it is so easy to travel to other parts of the city from this location, it isn't too much of a problem. All in all, a very good value hotel, modern, friendly and stylish.
“Great Trip to Barcelona!”
The hotel and location worked out perfectly for my friend and I. We were at the hotel for 6 nights, and found the location to work perfectly for us. A few subway stops from Las Ramblas and downtown, easy access to a couple of subway stops, as well as the train to the airport, or the trains to Montserrat. Seemed like a safe neighbourhood, two females, and we did not feel uncomfortable walking to the hotel at night. This would not have been the case in some other areas. Only small complaint would be that the safe in the room did not work. After the first request to have it looked at it worked, but once we opened it the next day it failed to work again, and it was never fixed after that. Very minor complaint. The staff also made reservations for a restaurant for us, as well as following up on confirmation, and were fairly helpful when we asked other questions. Excellent English, which was definitely helpful! Overall, a great stay!
“great hotel”
I chose this hotel after reading the reviews and I was very pleased. The staff are friendly, the restaurant staff even more so.The rooms are tastfully decorated with everything you would expect from a 4star.Sauna and steam room available which I did need after all the walking.Location good 5mins to tour buses, metro and local transport.
“Good location.”
you need to take metro/taxi to the Center where Las Ramblas is, but the metro is two blocks away and a taxi is 10 Euros. I liked the location.
“Great place to stay!”
I really commend the staff at the front desk for their professionalism and knowledge. They were comfortable in communicating the best tourist spots to visit and all of the transportation options to do it! It was a very nice hotel, and definitely worth the money. It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable.
