“Best location, nice hotel”
the hotel was satisfying, the stuff was great, answered all our questions with a smile. the room was tiny, but ok. they have also bigger rooms. the location is excellent, 3 minutes from the Metro station, 7 minutes from PL. Catalunya and the ramblas, and Passeo de Gracia. the Bus from the airport stops very close. Breakfast was a bit expensive, but the buffet was good.
“Good”
The hotel has a good location and was very clean. We had two rooms (4girls at the age of 22 years old) on the second floor. The rooms were clean but a bit small. The room 206 was even smaller than 207, so if you have a choice, don't take room 207. The swimming pool on the roof was great. You even could get towels there. So the service of the hotel was good. Subway station is not far away, it is just a few mijngas walk and plaza the catalunya is a 8 minutes walk. On the corner is a supermarket, open 24 hours. Taxi stand is very close to the hotel and costs 30/40 euro's to the airport. Overall had a really nice stay.
“would recommend”
Stayed here 1st night on my own and was given a small double room at the back of hotel-it was ok but nothing special. The next 2 nights I stayed with my sister and we had a room at the front of hotel with a nice balcony. The street was noisy when balcony doors open but when windows shut it did not keep us awake. The staff were helpful but not in your face. Good location, about 10 min walk to Ramblas, the airport bus stopped outside hotel and small minimarket and several cafes close by. Roof top pool and jaccuzzi great for cooling down after a days sightseeing. Would consider staying there again
“Good value for money”
Good location, only 10 minutes walk from La Rambles. Close to tube station. Rooms clean and tidy. Good value for money. Staff helpful with excellent knowledge of area and speak good english
“very nice staff”
loved the hotel and i cant say thanks enough to the VERY helpful staff, thanks!
“Very nice hotel, but figure a very good 3-star, not 4-stars”
Hotel is rated as a 4 star but not sure why. They have a dinner/show thing on the weekends in which they serve food/drink but otherwise there is no room service or food at this hotel (except if you opt for breakfast) so not sure why its rated a 4 star. That said its a very nice 3 star. Nice lobby Rooms either face the street (a little street noise) or interior courts (no view but quite). Decent size rooms with desk, small flat screen TV, great A/C, closet, safe, mini-bar fridge, etc. Bathroom is well appointed with marble floors/tiles, all the little soaps, etc. As a minus the shower glass panel tended to leak a lot on the floor and no good venting in bathroom which is typical in Europe, also beds on the firmer side also typical. But bedding and everything in great shape. Got a great deal reserving a week before in the off season. Its also a couple blocks from the 5EU Aero bus direct to BCN which is convenient for flyers.
“not impressed”
hotel staff is not good and not friendly.the bed was moving when you sleep. travel data 25-09-10 to 28-09-10.
“Great Hotel - Great Location”
Having read some of the previous reviews of the hotel I was a little concerned as to what I would find when I arrived there. I should not have worried. The hotel is ideally located with only a 10-15 minute walk to Las Ramblas. Yes the road where it stands is busy - but most of them are in Barcelona. There are 2 Metro stations close by also. The hotel is officially classed as 4 star but realistically is a 3 star. The rooms are smallish but in my view you don't go to Barcelona to stay in your room. We were allocated a room on the 7th Floor with a very large balcony overlooking the main road with a superb view over the rooftops of the city. Some rooms however do not have this luxury and have an internal window looking out onto a central service area in the centre of the hotel. The rooftop terrace also has stunning views of the city and is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle with its small pool, jacuzzi and showers - all free to guests (even the towels are provided). Did not opt for breakfast as it appeared expensive at 14 euros per person but chose to eat at one of the nearby terrace cafes. The receptionists were always polite and willing to help and spoke very good English. Would I return to Barcelona and this hotel ?. Yes & Yes !!!
“Clean room, Nice location, Cruddy service”
Overall: not terribly disatisfied. Room was small but clean. Location was good: close to subway and University. Nice surrounding neighborhood with some resaturants. Easy walking distance to Las Ramblas. Points of Contention: Hot tub on roof (in October) was luke warm at best. I asked if they could turn the heat on somehow (it was my honeymoon and I informed them of that) and they looked at me like I was Oliver Twist asking for more porridge, barking a simple "No". View from roof top is other people's apartments... Internet Services are only available for certain rooms, not the entire hotel so be sure to ask. Breakfast overpriced.
“Would recommend this hotel.”
Hotel is modern, spotlessly clean. Staff speak good English and are very helpful with directions, buses to catch etc. We asked for a quiet room and got just that, at the back of the hotel, not a sound on a night, slept like logs!turn right out of the hotel then 1st street on the right there's a lovely bar called Seven Sins, does the best mojito ever, also has live music. Las Ramblas 10 minute walk. Open top bus tour was great, but it's a very walkable city. Nou Camp about 55 min walk, well worth seeing. Take heed re watching wallets, bags etc, a guy tried to steal my husbands wallet but we were aware of what was happening, we also saw it happen to others. Gothic quarter has some lovely restaraunts if you get sick of all the tapas. If you ask for a large beer in the ramblas be prepared for it to be VERY large!
