“Good location, easy to walk to from Las Ramblas. Lovely Staff.”
Very nice hotel in a great location, just two mins from Universitat metro stop. No more then 5 mins to Las Ramblas. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room - great for a weekend though if staying for longer you might want a bit more room. The bed was very comfy and clean. Bathroom was spotless and showed very little ware and tear. Toilet was spotless as well. For two, if you get this hotel as cheap as i did (36GBP) i'd say its a def winner over any hostel in Barcelona and i've staying in about 30 of them.
“Ronda hotel in Barcelona”
My friends and I booke a last minute weekend trip to Barcelona. We wanted to be not too far from the central area but were on a tight budget. We chose the Ronda hotel and although the facilities were not amazing the staff were extremly friendly and helpful in accommodating us. The hotel is walking distance from Las Ramblas and pretty much all the wonderful sites. If youre on a budget its not bad choice.
“sept10”
hotel nice and small, receptionist was really helpful. ideal location only 10 min walk to placa de catalunya. room on the small size, but the bed was very comfortable.
“Basic but good”
If you want a hotel with the basics, this is the place to stay. 10 minutes walk from the city tourist centre. The room, sheets and bathroom were clean. Hotel staff were polite, chearful and helpful. The air conditioning wasn't the best but I have seen much worse. There is no bar fridge in the room but cold drinks and snacks are available at the hotel lobby and numerous small shops near the hotel. There is a pleasant cafe next to the hotel offering nice breakfast in the mornings. For the price I paid I couldn't ask for more.
“Perfectly Adequate”
The hotel was clean and quiet. We were a group of 8, spread across 2 triple rooms and a twin. They were all fine. We were concerned with some reviews regarding safety around the hotel at night, but we didn't experience any problems. One time when we arrived back at the hotel at about 3am there was no one on the desk so the door was locked. I just rang the hotel number and the lady came to the door almost immediately. It is a good location and very easy to get to the ramblers, only about 700 meters in fact. I would stay there again.
“Great value for money for the location”
Hotel Ronda is situated a ten minute walk away from the heart of the city - near Paseig dei Gracia and La Ramblas. It's a few minutes away from a bus stop and a metro station that makes it easy to get to the most important sights such as Montserrat and Sagrada Familia. It's also surrounded by a multitude of excellent cafes and restaurants. It's hard to complain about the price with its great location. Service was brisk (just like all of Barcelona), but the staff were extremely helpful in planning our itinerary by providing us with ample brochures, information and maps. The perfect hotel if you want a clean, serviceable room near the sights of Barcelona, but avoid if you're expecting to lounge about in the hotel all day (especially since the only English channel was BBC News!)
“Very noisy & thin walls”
We were very happy with our service of the front desk, who are under-manned and deal with everyone professionally, and on a busy weekend were more than happy to help us on arrival. However, sleeping is a problem if you can hear - walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbour showering & using the toilet. Noise from night workers, dustmen, removals who obviously have to work during the night makes a restful night's sleep impossible. Take earplugs !!! Great location with the Metro station a short walk away.
“Good place to stay in Barcelona”
The Ronda hotel is fairly basic but has all you need. It is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. It is situated between two metro stations so convenient for sightseeing and is within walking distance of quite a few sites.
“very comfortable hotel- would go back”
Hotel room extremely clean and comfortable- we even had a small balcony! Shutters on windows acted as good sound proof against street noise at night. Buffet breakfast was excellent and cheaper than we thought. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Only negative thing was hotel a good walk from city centre but if only staying 1 or 2 nights would recommend this hotel.
“Mixed feeilngs”
The staff were helpful and polite. The hotel is in a convienient location for the underground and for walking round many central attractions. The only damper on the holiday was the noise in the hotel on Friday night from some of the other guests. The hotel was cheap, basic and central and I would go back for those reasons.

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
