“OK for short stay”
Conveniently located (200m from subway, 400m to harbour) with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Room was OK for one night, but not for several days. Small window into tiny court yard, could possibly be noisy if neighbours speak up ...
“Nice hotel, great location.”
Rialto is a nice small hotel very close to La Rambla. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic in the evening hours, going on until 2-3 AM, but the soundproofing is good. Rooms are small by American standards but reasonable by European. Our room had good size bathroom with a bathtab and shower. Our friends in the same hotel were less lucky with a very small bathroom, where the toilet was jammed very close to the sink. The biggest disappointment was the lack of Wi-Fi, despite the fact that it was mentioned in the hotel description. Do not pre-pay for the buffet breakfast which is plentiful but overpriced. Any local cafe can offer the same or more for the half the price.
“Will go back”
The hotel was well maintained. The hallway was narrow and dark...until the automatic lights turn on. The water pressure occasionally gets low. The glass cover of the shower covers only half of the stall. But overall, our hotel stay was good. It is right smack in the center of fun.
“Great place in Barcelonia”
We found this hotel clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We would stay here on our next visit.
“Worst Customer Service ever experienced”
The staff at this hotel were the most rude, aggressive and unhelpful people I have ever had the misfortune to meet. The hotel is in a great location but this is it's only merit!
“excellent location, decent hotel”
The Rialto is a good hotel, what you'd expect of 3 stars, but the location makes it exceptional, situated near the Ramblas, harbour and the wonderful narrow lanes around the cathedral The hotel is clean and comfortable, rooms of a decent size with nicely modernised bathrooms. Ours looked out onto a small light well, but our friends had much better views onto nicer courtyards. The rooms were very quiet, an advantage in a city centre location. The only problem was the pickpockets - caught one trying to removie my husband's wallet - please take care!
“Will stay again at Rialto”
I liked the room, bathroom was super clean, good service, very friendly and helpful staff. The food wasn't excellent but there's so many nearby restaurants so that wasn't a problem. Very convenient location 3 minutes away from Las Ramblas, 15 minutes walk from the port, and the nearby metro station makes it very convenient to move around in Barcelona.
“Great location, cosy room, a bit expensive”
The hotel has a brilliant location right in the heart of the old town with all its tourist attractions and very near the ramblas, but at night my room was still quiet. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Room size was a little small although this is probably expected for this location. Layout in the room was good. The drainage in the sink wasn't working properly but it was fixed promptly after I raised it. Decent sized flatscreen TV - only 1 english channel but you don't come here to sit in the room. Perhaps a little expensive but the other 3* hotels in the area had similar prices.
“great hotel, great position.”
the hotel was nice and quiet, lots of bars and places to eat on the doorstep. 2 mins from las ramblas. will go again.
“Very poor service at the Rialto”
We did not enjoy our stay at the Rialto, the corridor leading to our room had paper peeling, there was no hairdrier and we were given a very old broken one to use by the reception with no apology. There was a bulb missing in the bathroom which meant it was only half lit. We reported this on the Saturday morning and it was not repaired by the time we got back to our room at 6pm. There was a huge conference checking in and the hotel just could not be bothered with us. A very poor stay and level of service for what we paid for the hotel.

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
