“Elegant hotel!”
Hotel Palace was the perfect place to come back to relax after a busy day of sightseeing in Barcelona. The ambiance and service is first rate. I had read some negative comments about subway noise, but we stayed on the third floor and it was not a problem at all. The location is very convenient for walking to restaurants and sights around Barcelona. The only negative comment which our young adult children expressed was that they had to get a code from the front desk every time they wanted to use the public computers. Our family stayed for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer.
“Pleasant stay in Barcelona”
Nice hotel in the pleasant Eixample area of Barcelona. Situated within reasonable walking distance of many parts of the city. The hotel staff were pleasant and do seem to try to do what they can for you. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are divine, even the normal Deluxe room that we had. Great that they had a double wash basin plus separate shower and bath. The shower was amazing, if you want, you can literally have a rain shower! One annoyance, as with a lot of hotels, is that they provide free WIRED access but make you pay for WIRELESS access. I was having none of that and had invested in a pocket/portable wireless router, £20 from Amazon. Unlimited wireless internet access after that. They even provided an ethernet cable. Well worth doing this if you travel a lot. Make sure you set the router up before going on holiday though! You may also need to go through the hotel website first before being able to to use the connection. If that's required I just do a search on a web browser and it redirects me to the hotel landing page.
“The place to stay in Barcelona”
The Palace is fabulous with old world charm and state of the art comfort and amenities. Rooms and public space were exceptional, great breakfast buffet, and location perfect. Great bargain for the money. I would only stay here.
“Great Hotel”
Great hotel and very friendly staff, only wish they provided in room coffee/tea maker
“elegance personified”
Top notch hotel in all ways. The staff was very attentive. The only downfall might be the subway passing under the hotel which causes a slight low rumble. Not much the hotel can do about that. Easily one of the best hotels we've stayed in in Europe.
“The Palace better than the Ritz”
Barcelona is a wonderful town and the Hotel Place is a wonderful choice for your stay. Very charming, as well as a great location. The quaint bar downstairs is a must.
“Very good hotel in Barcelona”
We had an excellent stay. The personnel were wonderful. They heldped us a great deal with all aspects of our trip.
“Good hotel”
We have staid in this hotel for two nights on our return from the cruise. Our choice was very much influenced by the Expedia reviews. We have arrived in the Hotel very early in the morning and they have checked us in without a word. I have to say that in our travel experience it does not happen very often. We were very thankful as we were very tired. The interior is very impressive if one likes this style. The room was very spacious with fire place and big very modern bathroom. Everything - air-conditioning, water, and shower, baths- was functioning well, everything was clean and everything was working. The bad are big enough but a bit hard and the pillows are of this horrible healthy style which looks like a sausage. We did not have breakfast or dinner in the hotel. Firstly, it was very expensive; secondly, there were so many options available close by in the area. In the reception they suggested us some of the best tapas cafes and they suggestion was excellent. We had very good time in Barcelona1 the location of the hotel is prefect, a lot of attractions and shopping could be reached by foot, if not, underground is just a few metres away. I certainly recommend this hotel if one wants comfortable, problems free stay in Barcelona.
“Lovely place to stay while in Barcelona, Spain”
The hotel really looks like an charming palace; fantastic common areas; beautiful chandeliers, professional staff. Rooms are large; huge walk in closets; great bathrooms and showers. Prefer this to a large chain type of hotel with 'cookie-cutter' rooms. However; rooms in front of hotel, on lower floors; like we had, you hear rumble of subway every several minutes; but you quickly get used to it; didn't keep us up...the balcony and views of the blvd helped offset the noise. Breakfast is too expensive; and not of great quality if not included in room rate; better to eat in caffe on street. Bar downstairs is a hidden gem. Loved the smell of flowers; which was all over..Would definately stay here again. Overall; it is a well deserved 5 star hotel
“An oasis of calm and comfort”
We were lucky to recieve a complimentary upgrade. Room was lovely, staff extremely friendly and helpful. As you would expect in a 5 star hotel the prices in the restaurant and bar were expensive, but after a busy day in Barcelona it was lovely to arrive back into an oasis of cool calm comfort.
