“Bang on!”
Great central location, literally a one minute walk from the University Aerobus stop from the airport and five minutes from the return pickup at Plaza Catalunya. Very clean hotel and helpful staff. Minor gripe... no hot drinks facilities in rooms so advise taking a travel kettle. Early morning traffic & metro noise may upset some but hey you are right in the centre of a great city!
“Outstanding stylish hotel”
Great bargain in a great location - despite its 3-star rating this hotel is stylish "urban contemporary" with smartly designed bedrooms and high quality bathrooms. There's free wi-fi and a rooftop pool with great views. A couple of minutes walk from the airport bus stop so transfers easy - and easy walking distance to everywhere in central Barcelona (less than 5 minutes down to La Rambla). Unless you must have sumptuous luxury, this is by far the best choice you'll find.
“Great location”
Great location for easy reach of majority of attractions. Hotel staff all very friendly and extreemely efficient. Lots of good reasonably priced eating places in the immediate area. Would not hesitate to return to the hotel jazz again or recommend to family and friends.
“Hidden Treasure”
I stayed at Hotel Jazz in Oct 2011 and had a wonderful time. As a woman traveling Europe alone, I did a lot of research before hand to try and find safe, cost effective, beautiful hotels to stay in. Hotel Jazz is at the top of my list. It is a mere block and a half from Las Ramblas--an easy walk, but far enough to ensure a quiet night's sleep. I walked a half block to catch the tourist bus lines that took me all over the city and beyond. The hotel is also 3 short blocks from the Aerobus plaza drop off.
“good choice”
great hotel well located, clean, friendly staff
“Location second to none, should be a 5*”
We stayed at the Hotel Jazz for 2 nights and arrived via aerobus which was very simple (we had visited previously and got a taxi which was 4 times the price for 2 people based on a return trip.) The bus stop is approx. 1 minute walk from the university stop, however you can stay on until plaza catalunya which is only 5 minutes away.We arrived at 10.30 a.m and did not request our room to be ready upon arrival however we were shocked when we were handed the keys straight away. The room and en suite were spacious, especially by european standards. The bed was comfortable and clean, shower was powerful, decoration was tasteful and the veiws were lovely. The mini bar was stocked to the brim and good value for money as well as the room service. A safety deposit box was included in the room and a vast supply of toilletries was provided for both of us and re-stocked daily The terrace provides stunning veiws with sun loungers and tables - possibly not suitable for December but the sun is hot when it comes out. Location is second to none (we had previously stayed on carrier d'aribau which was convenient however the Jazz was a huge improvement.) There are many bars and restuarants within walking disatance including the Hard Rock Cafe and a cosy Irish bar. Las Ramblas is a 5 minute walk. Overall for location, price, standards and space provided we would be more than happy to come back as Barcelona is our favourite city and this hotel really does it proud.
“Will come back”
Good place to stay
“Loved the Hotel Jazz”
Excellent location. Close to metro and bus stops. The staff is outstanding!!! Very friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants and a couple of small groceries stores nearby. Nice room. Very clean. Well appointed. Very comfortable bed. Flat screen tvs, hair dryer, safe. Would definitely stay again the next time I am in Barcelona. Tip: Take the Aerobus from the airport. This is a very efficient service. It takes 20-30 minutes. The price is 5.30 Euro or you can get a roundtrip ticket if you are staying less than 9 days for a discounted price. The bus stops at Plaza Universitat-Pelai, which is very close to the hotel. This is much easier than lugging your suitcase on the metro.
“It was nice”
It was a nice hotel - location is great and the front desk is fantastic when it comes to suggestions for things to do around the city. On the whole, the service was great. The hotel is actually a quiet one - I expected it to be a bit trendier based on the snaps they have on the website. However, the location made up for it - right next to la rambla and also close to a metro station if you want to get around.
“Convenient location, great value”
This was a great area to stay, right near the heart of the city and near several metro and bus stops. While not luxurious, this hotel is clean and comfortable and has everything you really need. The staff was pleasant and friendly, although they were not able to recommend much outside the usual tourist attractions. The rooftop deck and pool are definitely assets. This hotel also features free internet access at the computers in its mezzanine lounge. We were lucky to get a room on the 7th floor with a little balcony. The lower floors do not have balconies. Some of the minor complaints we had were: it was difficult to set the thermostat in our room to a comfortable temperature, the hallways were always hot and stuffy, there was very limited drawer space in the closet, and we were never able to figure out how to operate the towel warmer in the bathroom.
